I had no idea he was that tall.
Jimmy Ellis was 6'3"--160 or less (earlier in his career).

I've never met Ellis. I was going by The Ring Record Book, cbz, and Boxrec, which all record his height at 6'1." The official heights are sometimes wrong. Thanks for sharing your personal observations.

and our french gold medalist and WBO champ Brahim Asloum : 106 lbs for 5'5

i was reading boxing update in the mid 90's and saw a featherweight listed at 6'8 from india i think

This was my immediate thought. Somebody mentioned Marc Breland, and that brings to mind Tommy Hearns at Welterweight too. Specially against Leonard when he came in light. I also gotta mention legendary Light Heavyweight Bob Foster who always looked like a stick to me.

Didn't Manute fight the Fridge? Do I have that right? I know I saw a fight where I saw a beanpole take on a pasta house. Bean pole won as I recall.

If that's true, the fighters height isn't the most remarkable thing about this sentence.
