Byrd was stopped too soon vs Ibeabuchi??? did you really watch the fight? Byrd was all over the place he was so wobbly his eyes were not even upright and he had saliva streaming from his mouth. the shot with which Ike caught him was so huge you could hear it loud thru TV !
I don't have a huge problem with that stoppage as Byrd was taking some big shots but you are greatly exageratting. The saliva doesn't really mean anything any hit to the mouth can make you spit out a little, and he wasn't wobbly at all when the ref stopped it.

Larry Merchant's commentary was sickening . . .his clear hatred of Byrd was so unprofessional it made me want to puke. He was similarly disgusting during the Oscar fight for decrying Forbes for his "lack of offense" despite his very high punch output. For a guy who's never been in the ring in his life, he often asks for bloodbaths to keep himself entertained.

Thank you. A lot of these guys simply don't know much about boxing. They act as if "spit" means a guy is "starched".

Byrd could've actually gone on to win that fight as Ike was heavy and tired. The shot wasn't even that hard, just quick and fast.

Any fight where Amir Khan has had the ref jump in.

the second knockdown of chris byrd was an ordinary punch and byrd just fell over by himself because he was gone. it wasn't a push at all. if he was fine then why did he fall down. his hands were down and he wasn't throwing any punches.
i bet he was thanking the ref when he saw the replay.

Oh it was stopped too soon, but only because that overhyped dildo Manfredo wouldn't throw a punch. He's garbage and the ref did everyone a favour by stopping it. :TU:

don't know how many agree with me but Lewis vs McCall was not a good stoppage.

I always thought the ref jumped in too quick in the Emile Griffith/Benny Paret fight.

You think a guy lolling on the ropes with his eyes bugging out and drool pouring from his mouth is in a fit state to continue?
Look oliver, Byrd was clearly ready to fight on and he was talking to the ref about being illegally fouled and pushed by Ike (the 2nd knockdown).

The Chris Byrd stoppage was very premature. Probably one of the top 3 worst stoppages in the sport.

Actually...

Chris Byrd was arguing that he was never knocked down.

A PUSH isn't a knockdown. So Byrd was correct.

Ike got help from the ref to win that fight. Byrd would've probably won on points if the ref didn't cheat for Ike.

Let's see, how long did it take Byrd to get up? About 3 seconds. Yeah you just made yourself look ridiculous.

Cotto vs. Urkal was stopped too early IMO. I think Urkal could have finished the fight and never looked seriously hurt. I can't remember if his corner threw in the towel or if the ref stopped it. I think the first.

Too bad we couldn't hear it on camera.

Hey you should create another YouTube video for us post-Zelenoff match. He deserves another good thrashing by the man who gave him a thrashing in the ring.

How fast did Judah get up?

Getting up is a reaction, very instinctual. If Byrd was with it, he stays down until 6 or 7 and gets a rest on the canvas.

Byrd was torqued by Ibeabuchi.
