Froch did the business but no chance In hell he ever beats Joe, he dropped his hands head hunting and telegraphs that uppercut that guy let land.
Hopkins has two things Carl doesn't ((or at least hasn't had to be seen yet)jamesmcdonnell wrote:
Was Hopkins fast? Was he hell, but he came within a whisker of beating Calzaghe.
I thought Kessler sounded fine. He didn't take a beating, he was just very disenchanted and dissapointed to have lost his titles, his unbeaten record, and his chance to become the dominant force in the division.stujones wrote:He aint getting much better though.sendo wrote:Froch did the job.
Was reading that he could be taking the winner of Zuniga vs Pascal next. That would be good, Kessler would be a step too high at the moment.
See how shell shocked Kessler is after Calzaghe (I believe he is lined up to fight soon) now might be the best time. Personally, I didn't like the way Kessler was speaking post Calzaghe, it was as if losing the 0 meant he had lost some of his desire.... he didn't seem to enthusiastic when asked if he will come back.
I hope your right, as I am a fan. I know he didn't take a beaten - Calzaghe sort of fiddled is way past some rounds. Disenchanted is a good term to use when I thought he sounded like post fight.... just hope he is no longer like that.jamesmcdonnell wrote:

Well, Khan's been a pro close to 4 years - and a younger pro (should adjust quicker) - he doesn't even have the British title yet.Max Molyneux wrote:Kessler unlike Reid will follow with trying to put Froch down. Reid had him off balance yet never tried to follow up.
Amazing how a slow flat footed head hunter like Froch Is being mentioned for a title. 6 years and only a British and Commonwealth to show for It.
2 years and 11 months Khan has been a pro and won the commonwealth and a WBO eliminator In much faster time that what Froch has done.stujones wrote:Well, Khan's been a pro close to 4 years - and a younger pro (should adjust quicker) - he doesn't even have the British title yet.Max Molyneux wrote:Kessler unlike Reid will follow with trying to put Froch down. Khan could easily get that off Thaxton. I think he should do that, if the promoter's ties haven't been severed too much.stujones wrote:Well, Khan's been a pro close to 4 years - and a younger pro (should adjust quicker) - he doesn't even have the British title yet.Max Molyneux wrote:Kessler unlike Reid will follow with trying to put Froch down. From won the Commonwealth title in 2 years 1 month.Max Molyneux wrote:2 years and 11 months Khan has been a pro and won the commonwealth and a WBO eliminator In much faster time that what Froch has done.stujones wrote:Well, Khan's been a pro close to 4 years - and a younger pro (should adjust quicker) - he doesn't even have the British title yet.Max Molyneux wrote:Kessler unlike Reid will follow with trying to put Froch down. He aint stepped up yet... and there is no sign of it at the moment. Gomez isn't world class... who is to say the next fighter will be.Max Molyneux wrote:He's stepping up to world class faster than Froch even though both will have a loss once they do.
Froch wastes too much time, he could of got a title shot against a Beyer like fighter ages ago.
So Scott Lawton a big step up from Limond then? Kristjansen a step up from Earl was it?Max Molyneux wrote:Magee was overrated and got a gift draw against Oakey and ducked Brian Barbosa who Dodson beat.
Limond Is an underrated Gem with patience and a great tight guard.
Amir's at least not wasting time except for fighting Gomez.
What are you on about... the fight went 2 rounds!!!!!Max Molyneux wrote:Oakey totally outworked Magee and landed as well.
Yes he got robbed In his EBU shot, doesn't make It right that he got a gift draw.
Yeah should won Vs Lacy but was lost the first fight but was lucy because of a clash of heads and Lacy easily winning before his shoulder went.
I never said Tszypko was great - just said he is world class.... and Magee essentially beat him.Max Molyneux wrote:Magee was so negative and threw not enough single shots, how could anyone think he won?
Went 2 rounds but Lacy was pummeling him.
Plus you know what Calzaghe did to Lacy.
Although Joe would often fight them with problems... like injuries and stuff. Besides he looked pretty electric smashing up McIntyre in 4 rounds.knockout wrote:come on guys....
Froch faced a 3 choice opponent on a last minute call up... mentally he would have been so down for this fight..... boxing history has shown how many late subs have proved to be huge banana skins....
he got the job done.....
remember how average Joe looked in some of those routine WBO defences against kid fire/egyptian headbutter etc.. yet when he had a big fight and proper camp he looked great
Time and again you allow your irrational fanboy hatred of certain fighters to blind you to the facts.Max Molyneux wrote:Kessler unlike Reid will follow with trying to put Froch down. Reid had him off balance yet never tried to follow up.

It's impossible to make a call like that if you only watched him last night. Those of us who've watched Carl over a sustained period were aware he was just going through the motions and barely moved out of first gear given the limited opposition.Red Medicine wrote:After watching Froch's performance tonight, I must opine that Edison Miranda, Allan Green, or Jermain Taylor would absolutely destroy him.
