He looked to be turning Gomez over in their fight after the first round. Think mike was cut over both eyes and looked done in - granted he was on the comeback after won out.

Was really impressed with the journeyman tht night and wasn't surprised when he went ok to hear ant crolla

lets not forget he beat crolla early in his career and steve saville in his back yard on 24 hours notice for a masters belt...as for the gomez fight had a bad achilles tear going into fight so went for a 3 round finish ...suffice to say it never came....really great guy...

how did you find him as an opponent. i was thre when he boxed ricky burns on the joe calzaghe v kessler undercard and it was a close fight that might have went againt ricky. do you think with the right backing al hamidi could have been a contender

There's a guy that's just put LOADS of early Gomez fights up on YouTube. So many wars. The thornhill win, greaves, Doherty.... He was great at positioning to the side of his opponent. Dunno If the hamidi fights up tho
