Sorry guys, but Lynes recent upturn is all about the quality of opponents he has fought and nothing to do with any 'improvement' in ability.

This is the first decent opponent he has faced since Witter and he will be out of his depth. The hyped up run ends here.

I have been very impressed with Lynes boxing ability in his recent bouts, however Branco has fought in better class and winning in Italy is always an hard task! Probably be Branco pts, however I do like 80-1 up to 100-1 for Branco for individual rounds, he has a good stoppage record and could be worth a flutter!

his stoppage ratio isnt that much better than lynes

By the way.... the fact that fight was close was more to do with Branco's deterioration than Lynes improvement.

Witter would smash the pair if they came to fight.

I had Lynes by one, with maybe a draw being okay. Although I felt Lynes let it get too close - I mean I once had him six points up.

It was close but what was Lynes' corner telling him. You will never win away from home going on the backfoot in the closing rounds

Lynes won 9 rounds to 3 Including a knockdown.

Italian fighters complain to the ref too much.

Lynes won the fight, but made the old mistake of thinking he had it in the bag and coasted in the latter rounds. Risky thing to do, especially in Italy.

First 4 or 5 rounds and Colin was absolutely superb, bouncing on his toes, slipping punches, excellent head movement, snapping the jab out. Probably one of the best performances I've seen this year, then he got the knockdown and I felt he thought he had the fight in the bag, tired a little then got stunned by Branco's power and then boxed on the back foot from then on in. He did not want to engage at all in the last round even though a good last round may have swayed it for him.

Pity but really enjoyed the fight.

Regardless of whom you thought won or lost, I happen to think that Branco is nowhere near the fighter he used to be and would have previously dominated Lynes.

I also believe Lynes has been over rated lately. I also believe Witter would easily beat them both.

Got a problem with that? Perhaps you could give your reply in one of those rambling threads where you try to impress us all with your witty writing style.

ok, seeing as your post was a bit of an improvement on the one before last, i'll reply.
did witter smash lynes last time out? no. has witter improved since that fight? no.
has colin improved since the witter fight and does he believe in his ability more than he did then? yes, and then some.
i predict we'll see junior rather gun-shy next time out

I should have thought that was obvious? If he did deserve to win, it's simply because Branco has gone downhill. That's why its REGARDLESS of the outcome???????????

I would like to see Witter-Lynes now. Witter needs to impress and will do what we all know he could have done last time.

He can only beat them man infront of you... the manner of the performance though can demonstrate how much ability a fighter has - and Colin won WELL.

Why not be critical of Floyd's display vs Gatti then?

It was a robbery, Jim Watts analysis and scoring was fcuking dire IMO.

In terms of scoring, the fight had some similarities to Calzaghe-Hopkins with Branco landing the BIGGER punches, but Lynes being more consistant, although Lynes had a fair better case for winning than JC did IMO. Colin clearly won at least 6 rounds and he scored a knockdown. HOMETOWN DECISION!!!
