how will his promoter get him a TV date?
whose undercard will he be stuck on this time, then?
I doubt Bradley will headline a card in the US.
Undercard or not - Witter needs to get the title back.
I think Bradley can stop him next time, unless Witter gets his good form on and throws some hands with accuracy.

Showtime won't want Bradley to fight him again - Bradley only just got the decision (at least as scored by the judges).
Witter went in to every title defence knowing that there would be no way back if he lost. OK this is harsh - other ppl come back - but he doesn't have an attractive style.
Mick Hennessy has some good fighters on the way up and why not concentrate on them?
So, does that mean the effing Hatton-Witter feud is going to carry on?
How's Hennessy going to stage big shows when his main fighter is Junior Witter?
Jesus F Christ.
Did anyone mention Hatton?
If Hennessy is meant to be going through a "lean period" hinted at by both Spud and Bozing Chat, why the big Witter crusade? Witter is no kind of draw, brings in little money, and ends up losing his world title on the programme Gary Shaw designed to highlight YOUNG PROSPECTS.
Witter didn't even lose to a contender - he lost to a prospect. Let's get this right.
It should be over on the world scene. He's buried himself again re US TV. I know he wants it back but why not just win it on the day?
A Prospect who was number 1 in the WBC list of contenders.
Lets get that right!

A prospect - Bradley didn't get his fight with Castillo which was his contending step up fight.
It looks a hard road back for Junior. Is it really worth it? It was hard enough to find him contenders to fight while he was champ. Why not just retire and have a biography written ala Johnny Nelson?

Bradley was in a final eliminator for the shot at the title.
He is not a 'Prospect' - after 20 odd fights, he is a Championship level fighter.
Proof? - he passed where others ( Corley - Harris - N'dou - Kotelnik ) all Championship level fighters, failed.
Give him his dues.

Bradley grew during the fight itself but before that he'd not beaten a top contender because Castillo couldn't make weight.
Anyway, Bradley was the only guy who would fight Witter. When Witter was European and Commonwealth champ he couldn't get many challengers. When he had a WBC elim to face Mayweather his original opponent pulled out.
I really think this is the end. Junior's punch output it very low, and the reflexes aren't there. Unless he moves up to welter I can't see anything happening for him. And if he does, he'll get turned into a stepping stone (interestingly, it seems Andre Berto didn't want to fight him).
It's a shame for Witter but it's time other fighters got the push.

I don't want to see either of them again - in a boxing capacity of course!
They owe me 45 minutes of my life.
Good luck to them both and I hope they have happy and succesful lives - outside the ring!

Becaue you have not beaten a top contender does not mean you are not 'ready' - Hatton fought WHO in the first 40 fights?
Bradley has the pedigree from the Amateurs and while I thought he wsa good fighter from the dvd T Diddly sent to me ( nice one!) I felt Witter would beat him.
Time other fighters got the push?
Witter left Fwank so he could 'get the push'
He has won all the belts available to him from Domestic to World.
When the 'others' show what s needed to get the 'push' I will back them.
Witter may be at the end, the next fight should show us.
Bradley was the number 2 contender with the WBC ( I think) he beat people better than the established fighter did when they fought them.
Bradley was a CONTENDER in my eyes and the WBC.
Amir Khan IS a prospect.
Bradley?
He is the WBC World Champion by beating the MAN at 140lbs.

Witter's performance, unfortunatly, did not deserve an immediate rematch. Simply as. Lets see him in some other fights, see if he can come back stronger.

Let's see him vs Olusegun for the Commonwealth title in the county of low esteem (Yorkshire, where almost everyone seems to fight as if to avoid their problems rather than confront them) and see how many turn up.
Olusegun Is overrated, an unmotivated Witter would blast him. If Nigel Wright didn't gas, he would of won as his effective pressure and jab was giving Ajose fits.
Ajose's best stuff Is his fast flurries, otherwise, he's commonwealth level.

Hatton doesn't have that many top 10 light welters on his record for a guy who became world champ. Witter has Kotelnik, N"Dou, Corley, Harris and Lynes.
All Ricky has Is Tsyzu.

Corley and Lynes were not top 10 when he beat them and I am not sure about Kotelnik either.

If all Hatton has is Tszyu then Witter has nothing.

Since when were Kotelnik, N'dou, Corley or Lynes ever top 10 junior welters when Witter boxed them? Harris you can just about have, but even then we're talking about the bottom half of the top 10 if at all.
You do realise that Carlos Maussa (not even Hatton's best win) sparked Vivian Harris (Witter's best win) don't you? If you're including guys like N'dou, Corley and Harris as great wins on Witter's resume you've got to accept guys like Tackie, Phillips, Castillo and Urango on Hatton's record. They're all in the same ballpark. Fringe contenders with varying degrees of danger.
Witter doesn't have a Tszyu. He doesn't have a Castillo. He doesn't have a Collazo. He doesn't even have an Eamonn Magee. In my eyes, there's very little between someone like Timothy Bradley and Juan Urango.
"All Ricky has is Tszyu"...Jesus, I've heard it all now.

Tackie was a top ten fighter at the time of the fight.
So was Maussa
So was Urango
So was Castillo
-------
Phillips was on the fringes

All Ricky has Is Tsyzu.
Ricky also beat Oliveira and Magee who were probably solid top 15 fighters and won an elim vs the admittedly forgettable Mike Stewart. Point is Hatton was seen as a guy who was overdue fighting for a world title. He'd had a lot of fights and wasn't going to get any better. Bradley was seen as a prospect appearing on a series called ShoBox The New Generation and his fight to nudge him to the next level never happened (Castillo). Witter pretty much stepped down to fight him, with no other takers, even defending his title on the programme for prospects, embarrassingly.
Re Olusegun - I don't rate Ajose anymore. He's pretty much proven he was overrated after wins over Pryce and Numbembe. Witter could do with "blasting" someone.

Bradley was a CONTENDER.
He s better than Urango and Urango had Hatton hugging like they were long lost bum chums.
