Yep, I gave Branco 7th, 11th, 12th.

Well it really started back in the 7th.
Just wish Lynes could have avoided taking flight in the 12th. He might have been able to scrap his way to retaining his title. He'll be distraught when he watches it back.

Maybe not in the last two rounds... but two rounds doesn't win a fight.
well if he had won the last two on the Branco cards, they would have gone to him 116-112.... it would have been a UD.
Unless you are saying that for you those are the only rounds Branco won?

Lynes looked like the weaker fighter in there, I think the result was fair.

Robbery that, Branco only won 3 rounds and was knocked down.
Pressure doesn't score If It doesn't land cleanly.

Branco did NOTHING except in the 7, 11, 12.
Yeah he was stronger - but all he was doing was stalking, while Lynes was jabbing.

Who at Sky decided to hire Watt to commentate? He's shocking at scoring fights.
You don't score on pressure If It doesn't land.

Branco did land though and Lynes looked scared and he either legged it or grabbed hold.
What did Lynes think the judges were going to do with him acting like that?

Legged it and jabbed his brains off.

If Watt was good at scoring fights, he wouldn't score agression If It doesn't land cleanly.
Nelson's the only good one of the sky lot.

It was a bad night for Jim - he seemed transfixed with Branco.
Every round its "we are underestimated Branco's toughness" - mention it once, but he mentioned it every round - nope you haven't Jim... cause his "toughness" won him some rounds.
I only hope he was scoring it as he thought the judges might (although he said HIS card)... cause if that was the case, then obviously he was bang on.
Nelson basically said the same as Jim, and only gave the "edge" to Lynes cause he was the champion.

Typical of a result in Italy!! Branco was going forward not throwing punches he lost by a mile. Jim Watt had a bad night but still much better than Woodall and Rawling

All the blokes at Sky are good. They provide the best coverage but not the best fights. Watt is shit? Fvck that. What if he had a bad day at the office, I have loads of them. Watt knew what Colin needed to do to GET THE DECISION, not to win the BoxRec community scorecards.
Lynes looked weak in there. I only saw the 2nd half and it looked like while he was outboxing him at times, he was taking some very hard single shots and getting driven/bullied back at least once or twice per round.
If Colin was dominant over the 1st 1/2 and scored the KD, he should've won, but it looked like it could have been a tight one watching as I did from the 7th onward, and if you're letting the rds get close you won't win in Italy.

If you had Lynes winning close from the 7th round onward - then Lynes would have pissed it on your card. He dominated the opening 6. Well 5 were clear cut.
The only qualm I have about Watt was that he claimed he was scoring it as HE SAW IT... not how he thought the judges saw it. He said time and time again that he had Branco winning by 1 - so it is probably going to be WIDER than that.
And Adam Smith shouted fair decision.... when they say that - they don't mean fair decision by Italian standards, they mean had this fight taken place in the UK they agreed with the decision.

Maybe Gianluca is just such an intoxiating person. Didn't HBO's Lampley rave about his dramatic nose and movie star looks whilst the Italian was being chopped down like a tree by Cotto? Was Lamp's violent "incident" with his g/f some kind of frustrated, sublimated desire for Branco?
Maybe the commentators just love him.

as a side issue colin normally has a bit of damage/puffing around the eyes lately even against domestic opponents. nothing last night. branco?

Lynes clearly won the fight......He wasn't bashing Branco up, but he was pecking away, and controlling most of the rounds.
The judges cards were a joke and it was sad to see our own broadcast team playing the game and scoring the fight through the 'we know he's going to get robbed' specs.
If the fight was held on neutral ground Lynes would have won a clear UD.

Although, before we can declare ourselves the capital of fairness, lets not forget the week before Bradley was 1 point away from being as badly robbed as Lynes was.

I had Colin clearly winning 5 of the first 6 with a KD, he clearly won the fight IMO. The judges scoring was shocking and so was Jim Watts.

I felt Lynes won comfortably but he should have known better than to get on his bike in the last couple. Early on I though Lynes was boxing really well but eased up once he had felt Branco's power coupled with tiredness.
I also would like to think Watt was scoring it through Italian judges eye eg. that round was kinda close with Branco coming forward, they'll score that to him.
Not that I see there was any need to do that.
Also I get sick of these fighters always complaining to the ref, and how many rabbit punches was Branco throwing in the last few rounds, seemed to have a completely free reign late in the fight.
But then it's not a tickling contest.
