His dad Ray was on Radio One this morning, again giving it the patter about Ricky doing this for the fans.

I've defended Hatton on here as I think he gets too much criticism but the bunny his dad was talking this morning was purely aimed at the armchair fan.

Those who are too thick to realise who Lazcano is etc.

He kept repeating that this was the biggest fight of Ricky's career, and discussing the weigh in he said:

"Ricky will be there with his opponent, and Paulie Malignanni will be there"

Must be some little subliminal message for the oiks so they know who he is fighting next!

if paulie had the balls to fight rick in manchester then i'm sure he would have been the opponent for this.

let him take his beating at home instead.

Lets see him fight Cotto, oh waut, Cotto would knock his arse out.

Hatton is like a lot of british fighters, overrated.

hatton is top class.

stoppage wins over tszyu and castillo speaks for itself baby.

margarito isn't as good as hatton.

hatton could have done that to cintron.

hopefully hatton-cotto still happens.

i disagree that margo would beat hatton.

he's bigger and that's about it tbh.

hatton picks em out better.

faster.

better at spoiling up close as u all know by now. :D

margo would make it tough.

no doubts on that.

hatton would beat him though.

STOP IT!!!

You're killing me

Margo might be technically inept but he'd walk through anything Hatton has to offer.

well he better just keep walking.

cos hatton would be the one scoring the better shots.

it would be a tough fight.

don't get me wrong.

at what he does margo is one of the best.

but hatton is better.

margo would be soundly outboxed by floyd.

who doubts that round here?? :o

I don't doubt for 1 second that Floyd would have any trouble whatsoever dealing with Margo.

Hatton's chin is crap at Welterweight, he's best staying well away from the likes of Margarito and Cotto.

Exactly. Just one of Cottos powershots would smash Hatton into millions of tiny pieces

that was against 2 speedy punchers.

he finds it harder against the speedy boxers than he does the sluggers.

LOL. Margarito would fornicating annihilate Hatton at welter.

Also, DG I can't believe you work in the City yet you're so illogical on here. Are you sure you're not just somebody's secretary?

Couldn't agree more. I'm not as down on Hatton as some on here, but Hitman you really are in fantasy land if you think Ricky could hang with Margarito. Margarito would just walk right through him and stop him in the middle rounds.

Margarito would stop Hatton inside 3 rounds and I'd put good money for Margarito to end it in the first.

A blown up featherweight KO'd Hatton, what would a big (for a welterweight) mean, aggresive
fighter with a long reach like Margarito would do - Hatton wouldn't get inside and would get bombed
on the outside - totally the wrong fighter for Hatton to take on.

It is true, I can not tell a lie, I am a Capitalist at heat, but also a man of the people!

As for HotmanHatton1 - he does not believe a word of what he types, he just like to wind people up with his love of the of Hatton's bum.
