I don't think Dunne would "school" Munroe but it would be a hell of a close fight.

Munroe does have some power he has 50% KO record (pretty much) and certainly has the power to make good chinned fighters think twice about coming in (e.g. Martinez and Callaghan).

Dunne is fighting a guy called marcos jiminez who is 13-1. He is 24 with a few kos. Anyone heard of will he present any problems for dunne?

dunnes fight seems to be off by the boxrec schedule anyway. Hope this is a mistake

I dont think pikering would have much of a chance. I think pikerings last chance was against dunne and he was well beaten.

But it's a payday and then he can move onto Dunne, and then perhaps a world-title shot - logically it makes sense.

He gets another stay busy fight and waits for the winner of Martinez v Munroe, it's all he can do really .
Dunne will be the next European mandatory so he'll get the winner in the ring some time next year no matter what, the only question is what should he do in the mean time .

Fighting someone like Tomas Villa or Antonio Escalante(a fight that was rumoured before) would be good and would help establish himself on the World scene again but perhaps those opponents would be too big a risk to the prospective European title shot should he remain unbeaten .

I'd like to see him take a step up from Machado and Marchiano before he takes on Martinez/Munroe anyway .
If they could convince Simeone Maludrottu to come over to fight Dunne i'd be happy .
Not that it'd be such a hard fight though, more that beating Maludrottu would move Dunne up the rankings a bit while always getting revenge for the first Kelly v Maludrottu 'fight' .

He lost to Hasegawa a few months ago and since has had a comeback win over Tuncay Kaya(beat Johnny Armour and lost to Michael Hunter in a European title defence) .

What was funny about the Hasegawa fight is that the Japanese clearly won but Italian fans gave out like crazy due to them being used to getting the decisions(such as the Kelly fight) .

Anyone can look sensational against inferior opposition, its when you start fighting at a genuine standard that is when you find out how good you are doing. I have no doubts Dunne will get found out again.

He got caught cold against Kiko and I really believe he would beat Kiko in a rematch. Since the Kiko fight he has taken big steps in correcting the faults that led to him getting KOed in that bout and now boxes more at range and isn't goaded into trading as often. He is a learning fighter and I think the loss has improved him because it forced him to look at his showboating and over willingness to trade and leave himself open.

I said that at the time on here in the immediate aftermath of that particular fight. I thought he was caught cold and needed an immediate rematch to show what he's about.

Many Irish posters were saying the opposite - that he would be done in the same fashion.

I don't think for a second that Dunne is world class - the better names in his division will probably walk through him. But he has good skills and variety to win titles at Euro level,

He is unfortunate to share a division with so many concussive punchers at the top. There is only about 4 guys who I'd say definitively beat him.

But I still think Dunne - Molitor is a 50/50 contest though and is his best chance of landing world gold, at least at super bantam. But a second euro title is first on the agenda.

Dunne - Molitor would be a nice stylistic matchuo. Molitor, for me, would have a bit more movement and range off that for Dunne IMO. Dunne is a bit static for a world class fighter.

I go to his shows so I cant dislike him, so I'm not totally trying to paint a bad picture, but he's overhyped and too cocky.....
