During thqt year Ricky fought Castillo and Mayweather (at 147).

They didnt underestimate Collazo, Billy told them (FA) he didnt want ricky to fight Collazo but they'd run out of "credible" opponents.

I'm bored, this argument has been done to death over the years, and no amount of posting is going to change either of our minds.

All I will say, is that Hatton has not got one genuine excuse as to why he couldn't, and shouldn't have fought Witter at some point in the last few years. You cannot fault Hatton taking the risks he did against Tsyzu and Mayweather, and you cannot fault his victory against Castillo. He's beaten several other very good fighters, and collected many belts. All of which is commendable.

What isn't commendable, is ducking the no1 challenger in your division, which would have been a mega-fight in this country, and big on the world scene too.

Whatever happens for the rest of his career, a large amount of boxing fans will remember that as much as they remember his good points.

I'm out. :TU:

I liked the Part 2 Terry, very insightful and not repeating the same stuff we always here. I'd recommend everyone to read that, gave me allot more respect for Billy, seems like a top bloke.

Wanted to fight Hatton to clamour out of the effing big hole he dug himself in that shameful fight against Judah. How many casual fans know who witter is? I'll bet barely nione, however, had he fougth Hatton he'dve been on talk shows, making a cool million for the fight plus extras and receiving US exposure, which until very very recently he hasnt had.

Hatton was the potential springboard for Juniors career. As it happens he's lost to bradley and picked up peanuts through the long KO streak and even for his title shots that nobody wanted to see.

Are you also suggesting Ricky was scared of Tszyu and Mayweather, but fought them for the money?
He was not scared of PBF, why would he be? he was bigger and stoinger etc etc, so he thought.

Face it, Hatton ducked hm and robed us of the biggest british fight in years.

He had nothing to loose against KT, but he knows WWitter personally and from what I have heard, he is intimidated by Witter, Hatton is a man of rhe people (not my people) but Witter was a bad man in his younger days and Wricky is scared of him on a personal level.

Hatton robbed us of a Witte fight, but treated us to a steady diet of the worst world champions we have seen innyears.

Urango, Maussa.

Plus sheer rubbish opponents that were no way more deserving than Witter.

Hatton b- as a fighter.

T,DIDDLY, GREAT INSIGHT!

:D

Even as a Witter fan this gets a little tedious, DG let it go you devote too much time to the cause, I'm sure if you concentrated more of your time on your ambitions and less on Hatton ducking Witter you'd be a happier man. Afterall were boxing fans, lets just enjoy the fights we can watch

Urango is slowly proving he is actually a damned tough guy and a good fighter.

I totally agree. That's one of the best boxing articles I've read, excellent work from Terry & Billy :TU: :TU: It gives great insight into who Billy is and he seems a top bloke who stands no nonsense. I hope he enjoys his much deserved retirement when it comes.

Wasn't it BC who started the snotbag rumour?

I watched a repeat of at Home with the Hattons the other night and I must admit I find it extremely difficult to dislike Ricky as a person

Have to say that in years to come I can't say I'll look back and regret that Hatton didn't fight Witter. If the 2 had posted impressive performances in their latest fights then yes, but with the way things have panned out can't say I'll lose any sleep about it.
