Take it back just re watched the fight (what did we do befor youtube) and he took nothing more than jabs and a left hook but they all seemed to bounce off him!

Its a very big task to do both, he is wanting all the money himself. No way in three fights is he ready for a title. Rahman next he not completely shot?? This is a hard fight.

I think there's someone behind the scenes calling the shots. I don't believe Haye would be as stupid as to bother his fighting career with promotion in anything other than name.

I think this a fanatastic step forward by Haye. He really is the fans fighter. He is obviously a strong willed guy with a good team around him, as who else could have fought a Don King fighter (for two belts) and a allegedly fighter (for one belt) consecutively and come away without oweing them any options and more importantly, victories over both.
I assume he must be liked as it appears he drives a hard bargain. As fan's, Haye is the fighter we have been screaming out for, taking risks, fighting the very best opposition available and putting a big two fingers up to a certain promoter.
The only thing that niggles about this deal with Setanta is that they have done a massive u-turn on Haye. The amount of one sided hyperbole prior to his fight with Maccarinelli was sickening. They barely gave him credit for going over to France to beat Mormeck. We all knew who the house fighter was then, sat in the studio.
Well done team Haye, I look forward to seeing how this all pans out. I just hope David doesn't take his eye off the ball in terms of proper training and dedication.
I don't know all the ins and outs of dealing with boxers, promotors, managers etc.
but what about when Haye tries to get a boxer to fight him for a title, the usual way is the title holders promoters ask for options on the winning boxer. So won't this make Haye unlikely to get at a title shot unless he gets to be ranked No1 by a governing body, in which way he'll have to fight at least 2 eliminators. which would push his timetable well back.
Even DLH didn't start trying to self promote himself until he knew he was in the driving seat, and was one of the top boxers in the world, and one of the most popular.
Haye is a very good boxer, and has great potential as a heavyweight, but he doesn't have much clout worldwide. He is just another face trying to get noticed.
I really hope it all goes to plan for Haye, nothing would make me happier.
I said after the Macca fight i wouldn't pick against him again.

well said. He obviously wants to make a big mark and he clearly isn't content to make do with/put on mediocrity, as so many promoters are. Good luck to the man - after beating Mormeck and Macca on their terms, he's made his name and he deserves to advance his career in boxing however he wants to. Just look at Haye's ambition compared to some other British world champs.
Calzaghe? 1 fight ... Khan? Contract's nearly up ... Skelton, Mac, Rees? All beaten and far from big draws ... Mitchell and Arthur? One good fighter away from a hiding.
Let's be honest, the Khan 'dynasty' probably wants a change, why not join forces with Booth and Haye? Obviously Hayemaker wouldn't be able to offer Khan enough to get him under contract, so why not partner with each other ... the 2 best british fighters in the country under the same banner ... they might not make startup millions but the really big money would be down the line and the fighters would be getting what they're really worth.
I can see it now, double header world championship fight cards at the O2 ... glorius.
On a more sour note, as has already been said, the only flaw in any plan that has all of it's eggs tied up in one basket is that should the star of the show get KTFO, the show's pretty much over.
I think its been clear Haye would go down this route at some stage, as long as it doesn't take his eye off the ball and he has a good team around him I can't see it being a bad move.
At least Haye is already an established name on a world scene before venturing out on his own.
I don't begrudge him making as much money as possible, he is prepared to take risks in the ring after all. Very refreshing when compared to other British world champions of recent times.

I think the decline of Warren is interesting, of the stuff happening in British Boxing the big things are Hatton (self promoted) Haye (self promoted) Calzaghe (Warren's fighter but comming to the end of his Carrer) Khan (warren's fighter comming to the end of his contract) Athur (Warrens not well known) Skelton/Harrison/Williams/Rees (warrens damaged goods) Witter (damaged goods but Hennessy) Carl Froch (Hennessy).
Not looking much better than than Hennessy, however with Bejing comming up you would expect him to get at least one of the young british talents from that probably use his name to get the best.

If he attrackts an Olympic hero or two yes but with him on satalite it won't be as easy as it was to build up Khan and hennessy's deal with ITV will be tempting to young lads who wanna be on tele.
