anyway....is there anything wrong with getting put down?

Khan is lightning fast, but he doesn't have concussive one punch power, and he's so easy to hit.

The first banger he fights at his own weight, it will be curtains.

Big respect to Gomez, he came and tried his hardest.

I'm glad Gomez was stopped, he didn't have a realistic chance of turning things his way. He took more than enough shots for his money.

Khan is clearly going to get beaten at his own game when he steps out of domestic class.

I concede, Khan's chinny.

The ref was begging to stop the fight in the previous round. Gomez showed he could weather it, hook his arm round Khan, and then shove in a good hook after.

Gomez was hurt in the final round, but he was ducking a lot of the shots.

Prime Gomez - the Gomez of the Arthur fight - would have knocked Khan out. Gomez's reflexes are gone, he has no defence any more, but he has massive heart, was prepared to take the pain and gave a good fight.

This knocks Khan off his pedestal a lot. Possibly keeps him with Warren, who'll look after him and guide him (fairly safely) to world titles. No way Khan goes off on his own to gun for title belts.

Very brave showing from Gomez, fair play to him.

Khan looks too vulnerable though - I think he will get taken out at top level.

He'll still have a decent enough career I'm sure, especially with Fwankies expert guidance towards a WBU/WBO supremacy, but I don't think we'll ever be talking about Amir Khan anywhere near pound for pound or even udisputed champion terms.

It is possible he didn't feel Gomez and Limond could hurt him and didn't have great respect for their power - this feasting on smaller men is going to be to his detriment in the long run.

imo khan is abit like david haye...it's a case of who lands the big one first..

but then again, catch lennox kewis with a sweet one and he went down but lewis was good at avoiding the big one...khan's quick enough to do the same


imo amir khan can be a multi weight world champion...

Once Khan steps up and fights someone not MATCHED for him, he'll be chinned.

Too many similarities with Hatton's career.

when amir wins his 3rd world title i'll flag this up

Had Khan not gone down or also hurt to the body then I would have been very impressed. He's learning in there, his shot selection (uppercut) was pretty impressive. His strength and hand speed is something else.

I still think over all this has been the most impressive Khan display, showed power, speed, accuracy and heart.... some credit has to go to Dean Powell...

However, a Super Featherweight has floored him again - Carl Johannesson isn't considered the most durable, but he withstood Gomez's shots.

Pacquiao is on a different level (slight under exaggeration there) than Gomez, who is much slower and not as strong. Manny would catch Khan easier and would hurt Khan easier..... but there are still ALOT of plusses from tonight.

Sure, i respect amirs attacking qualities, but i think he is good...... not great.

Whether he will win a world title is debatable at the moment anyway.

Especially as Lightweight is the world's best division right now.

it's better to learn from having lazy hands now than when he's in with a diaz or pacman .....

Absolutely, although I think that was B/S.... no way was Khan EVER 16% body fat, and no way is he 1.5% now.... he would practically be unable to stand. My mate, who is an international runner, has a body fat of 4% and sports nutritionilsts are amazed he is healthy.

Although when he said that I thought "hit him in the body gomez". I wouldn't be surprised if he has broken a rib - no protection there.

I thought defensively it was good aside from a couple of momentary lapses - but given his resistance, thats all he needs.

Gomez hardly landed anything clean untill the KD (and that wasn't a clean shot).

He has the touches of the macho about him when he gets tagged and his defence goes to pieces - but that will come because so far he's only been tagged by two different people.

Needs some hard 100% sparring.

Khan's been hurt by two super featherweights now, he's gonna get beat, in fact, he's a KO waiting to happen.

Khan has phenomenal speed, timing and accuracy, but looks very fragile, and that will be his downfall at world level. If he was a big one-punch hitter then you'd give him a good chance even with the question marks over his chin, but let's face it, someone like Nate Campbell is going to stand up to his best shots and land much harder ones in return. That's when Khan will lose, sadly. It'll be very entertaining watching him all the way though.
