He looked to have the sort of chin that punches slide off, a hard, tough man. Boxrec rated him no.18 in the World going into the fight. This was a good win for Geale.
I don't think anyone questions that, but who should his next opponent be?

I know it was a comfortable win on the points card, but I wasn't overly impressed with Geale. Whether it was his opponent running out of puff or something else I am not sure, but at one stage Geale was consistently getting nailed to the head....and then the pom stopped throwing. Geale seemed to hold his hands low for a period through out the fight and I couldn't understand why. I wouldn't be aiming too high on my next opponent if I was him. He may of had a bad night or this bloke may have been a lot better than I am giving him credit for, but I thought Daniel looked no where near the form he displayed against Dawson.

6 months since his last fight!

I think he done well against a boxer who just defended all night.

If Mundine had a 6 month break he would wanna fight a 300 th ranked guy to get his rythem back. But Geale has a lot of courage to fight this 17th world ranked bloke after 6 months off and his first title defense.

That fight was ideal for Danny.Mundine would stuggle against Geale & Ajetovic!

On "Current Scene" the English fans were expecting to see Atjenovic win. Seems he has a big rep over there. He has never been KOed since turning professional so it was not surprising Geale did not knock him out. Bit hard to get much through that peek-a-boo defence as well.

I get the impression that if an Australian boxer beat Pavlik and Wright on the same night some people on this forum would still not be impressed.

How about Sebastian Sylvester? he is the EBU Champion and ranked 5 by Boxrec. He has a win over Castillejo, and at 173cm should suit Daniel's style.

geale,s a great prospect, he should be taken along slowly, good counterpuncher, likes to fight at own pace, becomes a little flustered when bustled by opponent, like to see him fight sturm down the track a bit

what do you think of Brute's choice for his next opponent? If not, who then?

i think sylvester would be a very hard fight for geale as his win against castillejo , who has beaten sturm and vargas was good form,i would put him in with taylor,it would be a win for him but also good experience talor can still wack, and i would like to see geale pressured a bit more ,i dont think he should be ranked where he is, all the best

Taylor would be a hard fight. I don't see Geale beating him to be honest. I would love to see it. Taylor has been in with solid opposition, Hopkins, Ouma, a draw with the awkward Winky. It would be a massive test
