I honestly din't think so highly of Holmes at the time (as a boxer I recognised his greatness though) as he seemed to want to beat Rocky's record by avoiding the best that was out there: Witherspoon adn Thomas...

There was an article in The Ring that said Spinks could beat him. They suggested that (A) other LHWs like Tunney and Charles had done it and that (B) he needed to not be obsessed with bulking up too much and that movement was the key.

I still didn't really think he ahd a chance though.

Nope, gambling is against my religion. But it was fun spreading around the "See, I told you so. . ." to all my friends who told me I was out of my mind when I picked Spinks.
