he sells tickets to the huge irish popuation in New York, he was headlining very early on and we all know that if you sell lots of tickets you go further in boxing quicker. He was ebing mooted to face Pavlik for the undisputed title without ever beating a fellow prospect or top ten fighter. Thats what he means by irish and good looking is getting him where he is.

Duddy's probably only going to light middle because he has no skill and thinks he has no strength to fight people his own size.
Or he's going down to Light-Middle because he's been on a poor diet all his career(Pat Burns has said his diet was crap) and should have been there all along .
Do you really think Duddy is the same size as Abraham or Pavlik ?

Pavlik's 6ft 2 of course he Isn't. Abraham's on the weights more so he will be bigger. They'd both Ko him not because of that though, they'll beat him because Duddy's not on their level and Is a hyped up journeymen because he's fighting In New York with strong Irish descent community going to support him.
Is Duddy has to dry out for Light Middle he won't be a natural Light Middle, plus he's not soft looking at Middle despite his diet.

Oh there is no doubt that Duddy isn't on the level of Abraham or Pavlik but it certainly doesn't help that both men are naturally bigger than him .
What people keep leaving out of the white/Irish/New York equation is exciting . If Duddy wasn't exciting it wouldn't matter what race or nationality he was he wouldn't sell tickets . Sure it helps that he started in New York which has a big irish community but it helped twice as much than John was blowing guys away(in the early part of his career) and since then he hasn't had a bout that wasn't good to watch . It's rare to get fighters who deliver excitement everytime, Duddy is one of them .
He's far from ripped either though and while he'll be big at Light-Middlewight he'll be no bigger than Taylor was at Middleweight, Hopkins was at Middleweight or Pavlik was at Middleweight . He won't be as drained as you think Max, he regulary weighs in at 158 and was 157 for a fight with Prince Arron just a few months ago, and that was on a poor diet . There are hundreds of fighters out there who will be more drained at their weight than Duddy will be at Light-Middleweight, infact I suspect Jamie Moore is one of them .

Moore would break Duddy down. It would be exciting as Duddy seems the bigger man and rallies when hurt. But Jamie is a cool customer in there, knows when to tuck up & when to start breaking you down. I think the ref would have to pull Duddy out by the late stages.
Maybe getting ahead of ourselves a bit. I mean, Moore has a tough one vs Baysangurov. And Duddy-Phillips isn't even confirmed yet, and it will be hard for Duddy.

Wales, you dont usually talk shite - but thats such bullshit
Which part?
1) Its a grand statement - most anticipated fight possible? Okay, so thats Dioufys opinion, I cant argue with fact against that. But could he honestly say he'd anticipate this more than, say, Manny Pac guzman, or Haye Klitchko - perhaps he can, although deep down is that true?
2) Neither have proven themselves at euro level. Actually I think Jamie has (and is probably above european level) but who is the best he's faced thus far? probably Macklin or Ljuan (who didnt come to fight), neither of which have beaten an opponent who is european or above.
3) Duddy is gash - He's an accident waiting to happen, actually an accident is an unforseen event, Duddy losing cant be that unforseen. Cracking chin, but terrible defence, gets hit too much, is where he is through sublime marketing because of his heritage and ticket selling.
Yep, usually talk shite, im a civil servant with fornicate all to do all day but post on message boards and scratch my arse. Monday blues when I wrote the sarcastic response to Dioufy, yes, another week in the fornicating 9-5 rat race.

Do you think his defense is improving ? I certainly thought so in his last fight, and with burns he may improve further, i think.

God man, it's the most anticipated fight for me because these two are my favourite fighters behind Haye and Hatton - I also love domestic boxing more than international or world level fights. I don't know why, I just prefer it.

I'd really look forward to it as well. Personally, i can't wait for Moore v Baysangurov.
Moore v Duddy could be a great little event. If they get past their next foes, it will be the European champion vs the IBF champ.
A lot of ppl were saying the Healy tune up was "meaningless" etc. Now the Irish excursion can really count toward something. Irish boxing has just lost Macklin (back to Warren), and there could be a great opening for Moore, who as we all know knocked out Macklin.
Hopefully a lot of ppl in Eire watched him stop Healy in that sharp performance last Saturday.

Was a little meaningless, Healy couldn't do more than give him rounds being outclassed. He already tuned up against a journeymen on the Hatton undercard.
Could It be a concern that Moore's had too many Injuries and then tuned up on too many journeymen?
He would beat Duddy though.

If it's given Irish fans an appetite for Moore v Duddy, that's cool, it's turned out well. IMO he beat Healy better than Lee (when Lee was shit hot) for what it's worth.
I actually disagree re too many injuries and tune ups. Moore is able to use his left hand much better now with the shoulder fixed. Stopped two fairly tough guys with it. Was very sharp with it, although it was only against Healy, and he threw it A LOT.
I think Jamie can throw a lot more punches now. For instance, I've not seen him throw a double left hook for a good two years. Moore looks ready to me.
Regardless of what class we all think Moore can reach, fights with Baysangurov and Duddy would be bloody brilliant.

Metropol - He's very limited, has a good chin and performs well against awful opposition. He made Campas look like he was still a world beater.
It's pretty simple....
I have no axe to grind with the guy, it's just a fact. He comes across like a nice bloke, but he is so over-hyped and that annoys me, especially as Moore is much better than him and gets nowhere near the exposure.

Well isnt that the point in boxing to promote your boxer and if you dont like to see guys over hyped then you must get frustrated a lot following boxing. Campas has been in there with the best. It is in duddys style that he never wins a match convincingly but he is 25 - 0 and that deserves credit , I know you can make records but there was times where he could have lost.

No not really, I can't think of another boxer around today who is that hyped with so little ability.
Can you?
Most prospects are underhyped.
Khan is hyped but can box, the same goes for Gamboa.
Duddy is a good looking guy and has a huge Irish following. If he wasn't Irish we wouldn't be discussing him.
The Irish are notably vociferous in their support of a boxer - and good for them, but it's often blinding. Even Kevin McBride got it!
PS I'm half-Irish.....

And the fact he could have lost against such poor opposition only proves my point, and that of others on here.
He isn't world class. In that sense he is similar to Gary Lockett, who had that great opportunity recently, only Locket has had fornicate all publicity in his career.

but he's not overhyped or overrated - tell me one person that overhypes or overrates!!! Everyone I speak to knows and accepts his limitations - its hard not to as they are so obvious.
Its could be argued that he is more successful than he should be but that is not due to overhyping or overrating its due to his popularity.

The bullshit bit I was referring to is primarily this quote - "Duddy is gash, a world title shot just because he's irish!"
Thats bullshit because there are an aweful lot of Irish pro fighters out there and not many of them have had a shot at a world title.
I am not saying that it isnt a contributing factor to his success but to say that its the only reason is naive and/or ignorant.

His popularity is probably 70% of the reason, then about 20% is talent and the rest would be down to his promoter.
A monkey could make cash off this guy.....
And why not, take the money if you can get it, I would :)
Then again I'd also learn how to guard my face in case I wound-up in a ring with Moore!

I love these Duddy haters - they are just jealous of the money the boy is making not because he is getting a "overatted".
Ask them who is overating him and they cant come up with anyone - maybe you should have a pop at Irish Ropes for promoting the guy!!!! you make me laugh man! Again I'll ask (only because there is so much shit said that Duddy is overhyped) - who overates and overhypes Duddy????
Is he worthy of a world title shot? Lets look at the facts - what makes a boxer worthy? he will make an opponant money due to his support - that is usually the only criteria - in that case - yes he is worthy.
