Brilliant performance from Murray.

Hennessy didn't look happy in the crowd, did he?

I've said it & said it, give him the fights and he will perform.

whoever does that , thanks :TU:

impressive by Murray, and good stoppage by the ref.
Not sure if Meager was still the same boxer, but it could have been Murray was just to good for him.

Always said Murray had big potential. Sure, Murray on the way up, Meager on the way down. But Meager is domestic level and Murray can go further than that.

This performance was akin to Romanov's dominance of Thaxton in terms of classy skills and dominance.

Yes, I don't want to be critical of a punch perfect display - but we didn't learn alot. Meager's power didn't affect Murray. He was to weak physically also.

Thaxton himself dominated Meager, in a different way but as dominant. In a fight that could have been stopped had the ref been more compasionate.

Meager was a British champion, but a pretty poor one to be honest.

Although, yes - I did tip Meager, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

yeah agree with that.

always saw the fight as a predictable win for murray.

meager is no fancy dan and u knew murray was gonna be too good for him up close.

i'd like to see murray in with either khan or thaxton.

u know it won't be khan though.

We did learn a lot. Some were saying on here that "Murray is awful." Now he's 'suddenly' a prospect again.

He's proven that he can totally control a fight on the inside due to his strength and infighting skills. He also proved that when his promoter gives him the fights he wants, he performs.

With him looking that good, I don't think he'll be let near Khan. Not after what Gomez did. Obviously, this is a fight that would be massive in a couple of years. Hopefully Hennessy brings in some good mobile comp, so that Murray can get plenty of practise in, should the Khan fight ever happen far down the line.

Meager beat Dave Stewart in an excellent fight, got robbed vs Danny Hunt. He's a good fighter.

Murray vs Thaxton (who gave the title up so this fight could happen), Murray vs Fewkes (ppl said Fewkes would have beaten him, last May)...these are great fights for Sky to put on & they will build Murray.

Murray has been left on the shelf prior to this. Now, everyone has to come and get him.

Still think Khan would outbox him, but Murray's very strong with a tight guard.

I think they're both future stars who will go way beyond the title level they are at right now.

Sure, movement is the key to tackling Murray. Murray could do with fighting Fewkes and Melero as practise. That would prepare him for a guy like Khan.

Murray-Khan could be the Haye-Mac sized event in 2010, IMO.

Hate to see 'em matched this early. Hope to see Murray enjoy his British title a bit.

yeah awful in terms of being a world class prospect.

not too many doubted he'd be competitive with the best in britain though.

that has never been up for debate in my opinion.

he's always looked domestic class.

i hold fire on beyond that though.

I agree on the Murray fights with Thaxton and Fewkes - that will teach us some more.

Meager has had his good fights... although I disagree the Hunt fight was a robbery. He did (apparently) get a lucky decision vs Martin Watson. But he got hammared by Thaxton, who hasn't looked particularly good since and neither has Meager (looked a lucky draw out in the states).

But he does nothing outstanding. He's not especially fast, no power, no strength, not a great defence, workrate is okay but not great. He got beaten in every department vs Thaxton, who himself got beaten in every department by the European champion.

Why's everyone suddenly saying Murray v Khan wont happen. It seemed likely if Murray won.

Has something been said during the broadcast?

Meager's a hard bastard. Good infighter, strong, takes too many shots. Very tenacious. Looked sharp vs Komjathi on the Witter-Harris undercard. Looked jaded - as did Murray - vs a Mexican in Vegas (night before Hatton-Mayweather). Perfect foil to Murray's qualities up close, definitely. But Myrray had to be very good to do it that emphatically.

Anyway, GREAT to see Murray pick up where he left off vs Hickman. Great that he will be in the British top 5.

Bring on Gethin, perhaps. Gethin just won a war vs Siddique and Sky are trying to hype Murray-Gethin this second. Gethin rugged, strong guy.

Murray's trainer has said that if Murray won & looked bad, it could well happen. And that if Murray won and looked sensational, it would be much less likely, re Murray-Khan. Despite the Hennessy press release, Murray's ppl are realistic about things.

allegedly knows how to increase the value of a fight. The man is the best in the country and surely he would make a fight like this at a later date. Look how long he left Haye-Macca, when 3 world title belts were on the line. Warren has just had an infighter show major holes in Khan's game, also. I don't see it happening. Not to say it won't.

An excellent performance from Murray .. and how brave and determined was Meager :o

Don`t see Khans people wanting anything to do with Murray for quite some time.
