I was thinking the same. Both have lovely styles that would clash in a really, really good way.

And is fecking him up, great to see!! Proof that the man is class and that anyone can get caught...and the stoppage was iffy!!

Lee, IMO better than Duddy and Dunne

Lee said the Vera stoppage was good. If he's fine with it, you should be too.

Didn't see the fight, but Pavlik would KO Andy Lee.

Lee is a good way off a Pavlik fight - this was his first fight back after getting stopped by Vera for pitty's sake!

Didnt see the fight but its a good result on paper and should help rebuild the confidence. Surely he should rid himself of some of the 'demons' of his loss by re-matching Vera next?...

I don't think he needs to. He seemed very confident after the fight and I could see nothing to indicate that he lost his previous bout by KO. It'd be nice for him to beat Vera though, so people could say that he's beaten everyone he's faced.

Ive not seen the Lee quote but I find it hard to see why he was stopped, he had been taking shots all round, he then gets caught and immedeatly throws back a hard left, he is then stopped.

I will wait to see what Lee said but I have never thought he should have been stopped, from the TV pictures anyway

Whether the stoppage was well timed or not is immaterial to the bigger picture, for me.

The real issue was why was Lee struggling so badly against a guy like Vera? If he is as good as I thought/hoped he is then he should be sailing past the Veras of this world, not going 'life and death' with them.

Good comeback win for Lee but he has a fair bit more to learn and refine before he steps in with the division elite.

Vera's team don't want the fight, they were offered a quarter of a million dollars to have Vera in the other corner last night and turned it down wanting more . Vera's team will have to learn that beating a hyped undefeated novice does not get you a big fight alone and that's he's going to have to get at least one more decent win before he'll get himself a money fight . They won't get more than $250,000 of anyone else except for a rematch with Lee and really should take it .

Lee looked fantastic last night and has learned how to tie up effectively, but if he's going to be able to take on a lot of the better fighters out there he'll have to learn to be able to fight effectively on the inside for at least periods of a fight .

I think he could beat a guy like Winky Wright right now, but the likes of Miranda, Pavlik, Abraham would chew him up easy .

I think from Lee's(and Steward's) point of view they felt Lee deserved to lose against Vera for fighting like he did, so whether the stoppage was a good one or not was immaterial .

I'd like to see him take on Eastman next, that's if the cut isn't going to keep him out for too long .

That's what really bugs me about Andy Lee and Wladimir Klitschko (both Manny Steward fighters); their inside game is non-existent. If Lee could become a great inside fighter he'd be an immense prospect.

Watched the fight on BBCNI last night and thought McCloskey ws a worthy enough winner. The scoreline seemed about right althought the Beeb cut two rounds :x McCloskey is a fast talker but got the job done. Looking forward to more from him.

I think Winky would beat Lee. In fact, it's insulting to Wright that you even compare the two.

Winky's an inactive , undersized 36 year old Middleweight . His style is well suited to Lee's aswell .
He's not a puncher and his turtle shell defense wouldn't be effective against Lee .
In terms of quality Winky is much the better fighter currently but if I was to pick one top quality fighter who Lee could beat right now it would be Winky Wright .

I think it's great that somebody is willing to put money behind Lee and back him, they obviously see potential in Lee which is good.

How much is a huge amount of money?? Manny does go on a little at times...!
