115-111 with the 3 points taken off!

Good post adam.

I thought the only rounds McDermott won were the 5th 10-8 and the 6th. and maybe the 1st.

Didn't think either deserved the win. Mc Dermott was mostly pawing and holding except for the 5th which was his best.

Wht the feck was Jim Watt watching giving J mac last 2 rounds???

Glad Danny won, not a good performance but apart from 1st and 5th, i think he won every other round

What is the crap these commenatators are talking about, danny is known as coming back from the brink loads of times
and he won that fight easy

Shame Sky don't change their commentators for the new season.

Mc Dermott put no effort except for the 5th, he just pawed and held. Neither deserved to win though.

Would of felt horrible If McDermott was the British champ.

Wish Danny had more footwork and workrate, he takes too many shots because he plods and looks more hurt than he Is when he's off balance.

so danny under performs again.

can people just accept that this guy is a domestic level fighter and never been anymore than that.

got whipped for the european title in his prime.

beat an old mikey boy.

beat audley and the hype train.

and a few international plodders.

either rematch mcdermott or audley or retire.

I'm afraid Danny (from this performance) either needs to work on that, or quit.

He's not going to win a world title, if he struggles against an english level opponent.
Totally agree, he was never going to win a world title but he could of got a European still though. He should of taken the euro shots when he was mandatry for guys like Vidoz.

What a crap fight!!! Neither fighter performed well but Mc Dermott had a cracking 5th nearly taking Williams out. Judges seemed to ignore the three points deducted and still had Williams drawing on one card and winning on the other two. Williams is a poor champion who was bloody lucky to retain against a big tub of lard who like Williams will never get past domestic level. Williams had no motivation and McDermott had no self belief, what a scenario for a British title fight. Williams knew he had lost suffering a 10-8 in the the 5th and three points deducted, while McDermott thought he had won for the same reasons. No celebrating by Williams suggests he thought he was very lucky to get the decision. He also said he thought he should vacate the title to give McDermott a chance of winning it. I have had enough of watching Danny Williams fights. I like the man, but as a boxer he pisses me off. Lets hope there is a kid out there who can come through and do the business. Yes I know there is David Haye but he is way beyond domestic both at CW and HW.

maloney losing the plot over the decision.

mcdermott proved himself a great fighter.

armed robbery without a gun.

least he didn't come out with the stevie wonder line this time. :D

Just got back.... Maloney was going fcuking mental, complaining about Richie Davies and life in general.....

I wasnt really scoring it, but i thought the points off were bollocks to be honest

I thought williams won it, but not by that margin.... i.e, when the points were taken off I thought that might have fcuked him

that said, Williams for me was the aggressor in nearly every round, mcdermott backed off him a lot.

lots of close rounds, but im glad danny won it

It was a terrible fight, what the hell was jim watt watching. You would of thought you were watching foreman vs lyle the way he was going on. Mcdermot did nothing for the first 4 rounds, i thought he was actually wanting out he looked so negative. He did have a massive 5th round but apart from that did absolutley nothing , except win a couple of rounds when williams had points deducted. Williams won the first 4 rounds and the majority of the late rounds with his jab.
Both were crap though and Williams should retire if thats all he has got left , but i dont see any controversy in the result.

i have to say max you were spot on with your assesment (dont let it go to your head tho)
Munyai should stay at Bantam/SuperBantam
Akaba looked massive, and is actually fairly skilled too.

Munyai was better on his feet, as good with his gloves, but lacked the power to dictate the fight. Therefore lost.

The scoring was wide. fair point.
However the ref was shyte.

if theres going to be a stewards into the judging - and thats how Maloney was talking at ringside
then there should be a stewards into the ref as well

thought sky were well off the mark tonight as was the ref. he was on Williams case from the start, there was an arguement for the first 2 points but the last one was way out McDermott was holding his arse off.
I thought Williams just pinched it but wouldn't argue if McDermott had nicked it with the points off.
