I agree. I've always thought that Geale could be in better condition. do get me the wrong way, but he never comes to the ring ripped, with no body fat to spare does he.
You silly bastard! You must be a goose to say that Geale doesn't train and always enters the ring in terrible condition. You should respect these great fighters and the effort they put in!!!
yeah, you got me, that's exactly what I meant.

Geale wants to fight the best not the weakest!!
A weak division might entice Mundine but not Geale...He wants fight Mundine,Pavlik,Abraham etc.
I dont think being ripped will do him any improvement :)

Gelae wants the best? Why did he go the IBO route then?

If he went the OPBF then WBC or Paba then WBA i would assume he wants the best but going the IBO or WBF isnt the right step in anyones career.
The kid has talent and is a fine boxer but fighting Mundine is about one thing $$$$. He should fight at 154 which is his natural weight class. If he had a proper belt at 154 then a match up with Mundine or the other belt holders at middle would be a big Event.

The IBO is gaining a little bit of credibility and can be used as a bargaining chip to get good fights... Don't forget blokes like Tarver were using the IBO that way...

Blokes like Tarver got given the belt, He got his after he lost to Hopkins how does that work. We have enough sanctioning bodies with the WBC WBA IBF and even WBO you start adding all these other bullshit organisations in the mix and we will have 50 world champions in each division and guys that dont deserve to be a champion will be.

Mundine will fight either Sturm or Bika next.

The Bika road serves as a tune up for Winky.

And beating Sturm can have the same effect. Sturm is probably less risk and he has a title, only will happen in Australia. Some big money will probbaly be offered.

I doubt he will fight either,
He will fight some Argie or Asian at a catchweight of 75 Kgs SuperMiddle and then talk about all the fighters he wants but wont fight.

it appears to be, with his age and weight in mind, 'now or never' for him. It has been discussed adnausium (sorry about the spelling) but I hope it is 'now' that he makes a stand. Unless a meaningfull fight is taken before the end of the year it is just about over for him.

supporter or not, IMO surely most will agree that at 33 he is at the last stage of his career.

But in all honesty. I think that time is long and gone.

Dwindling PPV numbers and media scrutiny will force his hand.

Its either Bika or Sturm. The thing with Sturm is, Mundine will probably have a few easy fights if he beats him. Before a fight with Winky.

If he was to fight Bika. Surely another big fight would follow.

We can safely assume that Mundines next opponent will be a big name.

:TU:

I agree with that. It seems he has been fighting these cabbies for 2 years now, which he kinda has.

The next couple of weeks (When he will announce his next fight), will determine his career. Money or Australian legacy.

I really hope that Mundine fights someone worldclass, The man has talent but is wasting it and conning the public at the moment.
I dont think it is his own doing though i really think it is the leeches around him in his team. I would assume as a fighter he would want to test himself and get some real recignition in this country.

I know 2 things. And that is.

1 Hes after a fight with Sturm ASAP. He wants it in Australia though, and hes going to have to offer a lot of money. My guess is Sturm wouldn't even contemplate fighting out of Germany for less than $1.5 Million.

2 Sakio is a fall back option. Mundine isn't exactly scared of him. Both have sparred a lot before, together. Going from these romours. Sakio will probably be a lot less cheaper to fight. Something along 500K would make him happy.

I doubt the fight would sell as many PPV's as the Sturm fight would in OZ. Even though people seem to hate the guy. No one is going to knock him for fighting for a world title, and people will flock to tune in.

I would be both dissapointed and laughing if he fights another cabby. But i think we can safely assume it simply won't happen.

P.S Yep there are heaps of leeches around him from what im seeing. Just look at his post-fight interviews. People are there screaming "your the man". Embarassing and childish. Even Mundine himself seems embarassed.

this is a silly comment from a narrow minded sparring partner/student. to say that a bloke would not benefit from being in better condition is just plain silly. you have to enter the ring as fit as you can be. yes, i believe geale is a very very fit man but i also believe that he could greatly benefit from some work with his build. don't mean pump weights until his veins burst.

i cannot honestly see Sturm coming to Oz.If Mundine went to germany(unlikely)i wonder if he would carry on like he did before the fight with Ottke(seem to recall one of svens sparring partners getting a bit hot under the collar about dickheads conduct).
Do hope he gets sturm .Christ i might even support him him again if he does.

Just wondering(as have had little time to keep up on current events)but has Green definitely said no to a comeback or is that still up in the air?????

Yeh. That won't happen now. No way Mundine goes down to 72 KG's then moves up to LHW. Would take another year another tune up fight. We can safely assume that won't happen.

How much are we talking about here with Sturm? You reckon $2 million will get him here in OZ?

^^no idea mate.Be interested to know how much he gets for his fights in germaany(which i think would be a fair bit). reckon Mundine would have to double that.i just cant see sturm coming here.

Yes very true. Could be a problem.

I remember hearing some guy ramble on about Sturm being on free to air in Germany.

And that he literally rakes it in. A few million a fight.

You have used the term safely assume a few times to say Mundine won't take a soft option, I really don't understand how you could ever 'safely assume' Mundine won't take a soft option, it's what he does far more often than not. The only thing we can 'safely assume' is that he won't fight Kessler because Mundine is a cat.
