Horse :
SN offered Rhodes the Pryce fight after he'd beat Woolcombe

Horse,
Offered for paltry money, to take place two weeks after the Woolcombe fight, and when they knew he was in the States.
Bargain eh ?
Any fighter would jump at that chance.
This has been covered on another thread.
Beagleboy stop being an arse, I know who you are

Jamie Coyle now formally confirmed as Rhodes opponent on 20-09-08 following board approval.
Rest of bill shaping up nicely - no doubt announcement soon.

Don't know much about Coyle, he's just beaten Butlin (4-3)......record is ok of late but not beaten anyone of note. Easy night for Rhodes? Then Vuma?

That's the plan, Hook.

Cheers 26.
I can see him disposing of Coyle as he's fair game by the looks of it. Vuma is an altogether different proposition. The guy can punch, Thompson's chin was severely tested that night. Will be a very interesting match-up.

Agreed Hook.
It's the old damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario.
I think this is a sensible route.
Let's see what the remainder of 2008 brings for Rhodes.

Any clues on the undercard ?
Josh Wale must be a cert .
Tony Dodson ? Patrick Maxwell ? The 2 amateur kids ?
Cheers

WBC were offering the winner of Vuma moore a WBC title eliminator, alas sky turned the fight down in favour of facey (allegedly).

Wales,
I dont understand the point you're making.
As Vuma v Moore didn't take place due to Moore's injury ( but had it done so, it would have been on Sky ) how could the eliminator fight be rejected for the Facey fight ?
I think this is just spin from the Moore camp.

No No, I was wondering if the same could or would be offered by the WBC to Ryan... no spin or alternative point (you're far too cynical). Sky knocked the fight back as Vuma didnt perform well enough against Mark Thompson (I understood).

Wales,
I think Vuma is ranked 11 by the WBC at LM - or Super Welterweight as they call it !
I think Jamie Moore comes in at 14.
If Rhodes beats Vuma then I think it will get him a ranking, but nothing more at this stage.
Sorry if I miusinterpreted your post.
I still don't believe that Sky would reject Vuma but go for Facey as an opponent for Moore.
Makes no logical sense at all.
To say it's because of his performance against Thompson ..... well he won and as much as I like Andrew he ain't exactly been starring, has he ?

Thats what I understood at the time. Sky also knocked back Woods V Garay in favour of Woods v Jason De Lisle, apparently.
You question the logic of a company who have just announced Amit Khan as a £14.99 per fight pay per view superstar when he hasnt even proven he's the best lightweight in lancashire.

Hands up - you got me there, Wales !
I find it very sad that when a Promotor comes up against a challenger, he can simply throw his doll out of the pram, and sign up elsewhere.
I find it even sadder, having heard first hand the rhetoric between Wazza and Sky over the last couple of years, that the TV Company gets back into bed with the same Promotor as though nothing happened.
Sky must be deluding themselves if they think the quality of the product is any better now - in fact it's worse !
I sense a panic measure, with everything dangling on a thread that is Amir Khan.
That's why he will become WBU Champ spoon fed opponents to suck joe public in.
£15 a shot ? Bargain - I don't think so.

That was the case at the time mate, for the Sky viewing public apparently. They reckoned people would rather watch him than Vuma. Utter drivel, he's one of the most unattractive boxers to watch.

I doubt Setanta would / will reach the same conclusion.
Maybe that's why Wazza jumped ship - someone had the audacity to challenge his match making !

Yeah i thought he would struggle to make it, he needs to stay busy now at his age i got to say i don't know why he stands in front of opponents and trades, he is so good at not getting hit he did it against Locket and Woolcombe
