All this Khan is chinny stuff is very very overplayed, the real story is that Khan has a poor defense and doesnt really have the smarts to grab and hold when he's in bother.

Prescott looked 'reet tho, maybe he's a potential world champ sooner rather than later
Agreed (for once)

I don't think anyone's overreacting that much. Sky Box Office and Sports Network were asking a lot, for ppl to pay £15 for Khan vs a contender no one had heard of. And he got put away in style.

I'm happy to see a surprise, and to see a fighter of potential announce himself (Prescott).

FFS!.......... Khan's arse has spent more time on the canvas than his feet!
Don't you think Khan's ability has been..........................................very very very very overplayed

Yes, he won that Olympic silver meddle in a raffle, no?

Like i said earlier, Khan's biggest test is now, how he recoveres and how he goes from here.

We have to see his next few fights, which will obviously be Khan fighting safety minded. After that, see where he goes, i.e. Does he go for a title shot? A Rematch? Or go for a lot of tune-ups.

ImageAre we over reacting?....... er....No!
The whole Khan camp were asking for this
and i don't give a flyin' f*#k about his Olympic silver and dubious revenge match!
He got dropped by Craig Watson in the ABA's then pulled out with a lame ticket quota excuse
Check it out .........http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qBRAmjDXWU.........its brilliant
As far as i'm concerned this was a train wreck just waiting to happen!

"Diaz and Pacquiao are great fighters, but I could beat them both,"
"I'm fighting in front of a 10,000 sell-out on Saturday night so I think I'm one of the main men in the division.
"And by the end of the year I'm not just going to be one of the main men, I'm going to be number one, everybody's going to be after me.

Khan to the BBC just prior to being dropped by Gomez!

But don't fret i'm sure their is plenty more bullshit to come :box:

Whats more prestigious-british title or the commonwealth title?

Khans definitely commonwealth class, and is basically fringe european class. There's no way he's world class.
I would say British. The Lonsdale belt is the one to have.

Are we over reacting, absolutely not. Khan was an accident waiting to happen, and it simply has. To be among the elite you have to have better defense and take a shot so even if Khan goes on he wont make it to the top. He could even get very seriously hurt so perhaps its a good time to think about using his millions to make more millions in a safer occupation.

Khan is another Kelcie Banks, he is just not going to make it to World level, I'd pick Murray to brake him down and knock him out and I don't think Murray is world class either.
I thought he was a "can't miss" prospect when I saw him at the Olympics, his achievements in Athens were superb for his age, but he hasn't transported that talent to the payed ranks and I don't think he ever will. Apart from a very, very dodgy chin, Khan lacks real physical strength, his shoulders look far too tense which makes him lack fluidness, he moves forwards and back with his head up, he's too honest(never spoiling or shoving or pushing, even when badly hurt) you can get away with being like that as an amateur now but pro boxing is almost a different sport.

I havent come across an Asian yet with real strength. I watched a couple of Asians trying to undo a wheel nut with a spider. One of them was young and very well built but couldnt do it. OK it was tight and I did fall over but nevertheless I did get it undone and I was in my late 50s with back problems, always been strong though. Black guys are unquestionbly far more powerful.

I think a lot of the backlash is against SN/Wazza rather than Amir himself - they've hyped him up to the nines whilst refusing to put him in competitive bouts then insulted everybody by fleecing the nearest to a real contest as a PPV.

Khan can come back - but the road starts with him telling his family and promoter to butt out. The questions over his chin will always remain but its possible as he gets older that he will get stronger...

Well, if Fwank and Amir's family had allowed him to mature more naturally (and perhaps not rushed him into the pros) then he wouldn't have been a 21 year old boy trapped in the headlights against a big puncher, weighed down by unrealistic expectations that had been heavily fostered by said promoter to justify a ridiculous PPV exercise. He might have spent more time working on his defence and less doing poncey promos about how utterly hard he was...

I'm not saying any of this would have made him invincible, but it'd surely have given hima much better chance.

Khan won't get anywhere unless he learns to box like a pro, he still fights like he did 4 years ago. When he is on the attack he is wide open to counter punches and unless he changes this he will end up KO'd everytime he faces a puncher.

The real test for Khan begins now, getting bombed out as easily as that can't be good for his confidence.

I do agree here, I saw tapes of him in the amateur, and his actual style does look amateurish.
Khan has an exciting style but doesn't have the power and chin to make it durable. If you fight like he does, you would at least need some serious knockout power, which he doesn't have. He does throw nice fast combinations that end up finishing his opponents, but he aint got no true KO power. He needs to learn some defense as well because he is chinny. He needs to learn some head movement FFS, Prescott did nothing special here, he just threw a few wild hooks and Khan's had no guard at all, he was caught like a noob.
If he wan't to come back, he needs to change everything, including his weight class.

Amir really is in no position to tell his employer, allegedly to "butt out"
