I guess we'd better let him reflect before deciding on his opponent DP, but whoever it is I'd be surprised if their KO ration is above 50%

Put him in with Napa. It's the safe thing to do.

I'd be surpised if their win percentage is above 50% let alone KO ratio.

Fehintola would fit the bill.

"I'm a great matchmaker when Khan is winning" - that's not the point of a matchmaker is it? Surely that's to make pick 'em fights, fights that sell tickets and where you go hoping someone will win but not knowing - that's equally poor matchmaking to picking a guy who absolutely disposes of your protoge.

Secondly, how can he come out with Rubio is a great trainer but poor matchmaker? If Rubio suggested the name it shows he must know something about Prescott - if he can't even coach Khan to not take any shot Prescott wanted to throw - and he could have caught Khan with absolutely anything he liked - then he must be an appalling coach. Khan's defence was simply non-existant, how he gets caught with a telegraphed left hand in the first place, and rocked by a straight jab?

Awful paper defence + worst chin of almost any pro = getting knocked out way before World level as we've seen. Gavin Rees would trouble Khan, and IMO that's saying something!!!
Herbie Hide.

He is massive for the weight, you've got to be ina and out and either avoid taken his shots (if your chinny) or absorb them.

I can't see Khan beating him ever, cause he has the handspeed to catch a warmed up Khan.
LOL. I can't believe some people trying to talk up Prescott. The guy is an ordinary fighter.
Have you seen Prescott in any other fights?
Prescott was meant to be shit vs that Cuban (Abril? Avril?). However, anyone can look shit once in a while and maybe he improved. He showed very good composure vs Khan, wasn't bothered by the occasion or Khan's speed, & seems to have promise.

I wonder how he'd fare vs a good pressure fighter who will bring it for 12 rounds. Can he take it to the body, can he fight backing up, can he put in 1 2good rds, etc.

I don't think he has. Pretty sure he is just trying to take yet another pop at Khan.

His record isn't impressive and Khan's fought much better opponents on paper. Still, does it matter now?

Good point well made, but doing the Zab dance after being hooked by Willie Limond....??

Maybe... aint saying he is Rocky Marciano now - but I would fear for Hide if he took a punch, any kind of punch, practically from anyone.

Joseph Chingangu!!!!

Judah did his little dance after he got up.... khan did his dance from Limond before going down... people seem to forget that Judah went down like a ton of bricks before doing his dance...although it is one of the most devasting punches I have seen.

its the 'jab' wobble that worried me more than the ko, as it landed i said..'shit' did khans legs go slightly then...

hell, i can imagine someone legs doing the 'up against the shower curtain orgasmic dip' if haye or lewis or tyson landed a decent straight left jab..... but...prescott was a thin and wirey customer...but khans card was marked early doors !!!

I feel the same way. Another person who comes to mind with this is Herbie Hide, who was knocked down by a Vitali Klitschko jab.

There's a new video interview up on the beeb with Khan in the gym being quizzed about the loss and from what was said it's pretty obvious what 'they' intend to do now.

Khan's going to be brought along slowly and he's going to go the euro route. In fact, he pretty much states that when he says something along the lines of - we're going to get to the top the proper/normal way instead of trying to leapfrog to the top (hah!).

Digs aside, I'm actually a lot more optimistic about his future today than I was yesterday. The worst possible scenario of his career has already played out, he's still 21, his confidence seems unharmed and the real damage seems to be to his pride, and that's better than if it were the other way around.

He also states that he only saw one of Prescott's fights beforehand on 3 weeks notice, and if it was the same ESPN2 fight against the cuban that's been doing the rounds then I can sort of understand why he went after him without due care because from what I saw of Prescott, he looked extremely sloppy and slow. Based on that vid alone I saw it being a walkover for Khan and I'm sure he and his team thought the same.

I'm also a little less inclined to agree that he's got no hope based on his chin being exposed. He is chinny but he has excellent recuperative abilities, to bounce back up after being smashed into unconsciousness by two of the hardest looking punches I've seen in a while is a feat in itself.

He obviously hadn't learnt his lessons from previous knockdowns and I cant think of a better way to kick a stubborn boy with his head in the clouds into reality than being KO'd in 1.

If I was Warren I'd be paying Prescott through the teeth for some quality sparring, nothing too brutal but who better to hone Khan's defence and composure than the man who obliterated him?

As has been said many times before boxing is a business. Getting hold of a popular silver medalist who the media were making into a star was a dream come true for FW. Khan has made him loads of money in return for some very careful matchmaking so all was going well. I think he knew Khan would be lucky to reach the top and if he did Warren would likely lose him. FW was in no rush with Khan, the more fighters he could find that stood little chance of beating Khan the better, and the show would go on. Good business resulting in huge money so who can blame FW. Prescotts record looked good on paper and would have looked brilliant on Khans CV had he beat him. Fact is Prescott had fought mainly bums who had never even won a fight and struggled through his last win. He was seen as perfect for Khan so they took the fight. Khan knew Prescott had a padded record (actually it was worse than padded) and came out showing the guy no respect at all. The one thing in Prescotts favour was his big punch and Khan handed the fight to him with his unprotected glass chin. A bit more respect and Khan may have won had he covered up better. You can say he was too eager, I think it was arrogance but he paid the price either way. Prescott was fully aware of Khans status and this wasnt just a fight but the chance of a lifetime and he took it. To him it was every bit as good as winning a world title which will never happen. Prescott really isnt that good, I am sure of that, but he will make some good money after defeating Khan with a good promoter.

Lol, are you still here?

I saw Prescott vs Abril, and I saw how limited Abril looked too. Sometimes you can just see. If we're talking about elite level, Prescott won't get there. He's a telegraphing swinger, guys. I'm sure solid guys with some heart could beat him. IMO he won't even be another Ricardo Torres. I guess we'll find out though...

Aside from everything else, it's always a great to see a guy from poverty get a great chance and taking it, particularly at the expense of a pampered millionaire with unfounded allusions of grandeur.

a rematch won't change much the course of the fight, except it might take more tha 54 seconds, but Prescott will knock Khan out again. Khan has no defense and no chin, Prescott will catch him there is no way Khan can avoid getting hit for 12 rounds.

Recuperative abilities are fine, but if you wobble every time you're hit, and go down whenever you take a solid shot, you're future ain't too bright.

It is a business that - in Khan's case - thrives on misleading the viewer. Everyone got a reality check and this is a good thing.

khan's chin will get worse and worse as time goes by, every half decent punch you receive to the head causes tissue damage associated with a minor head injury. brain tissue damage does not heal !!!!!!!!
