ITV4 is on the freeview boxes, so it has a far wider catchment area than Sky and Setanta. I don't know, but I'd imagine fights will be put on ITV1 on terms of merit, it doesn't sound like they have anything firmly contracted for ITV1 fights

This is the best boxing step ITV have taken in years.

Can't wait for these shows, and especially Froch v Pascall. With Froch's luck, I'll believe it when the 1st bell goes, but this news is one in the eye for all the sceptics who doubted it would ever happen, let alone this year.

I reckon we'll be seeing Hennesey bidding on alot more fights like this now that he's had an ITV cash injection, plus it'll annoy Wazza and go some way to revenging the Woods-Johnson purse bids

He well over bid just like he did for the Murray fight. Let hope ITV's budget is a healthy one for Mick or else he could end up the same way as Harry Holland who had BBC but went skint.

If any of you are into company accounts do a search on the financial position of Hennessey Sports LTD. It does not make good bed time reading.

I bet many of the managers are checking and praying that he can stand the bids he has submitted.

Quality doesn't come cheap. I dare say ITV will realise this now after SN served up dross and were effectivly shown the door by ITV. I can't imagine them doing a prolonged deal if it was a genuine concern.

ITV have made the right decision, especially after seeing SN trick Sky into buying his chinless-wonder boy.

This deal is the best news British boxing has had in a long time IMO.

As Franky himself said after the Calzaghe-Lacy fight, "the best fights are always on ITV"!

Not that great a selection, but bouts I think that will not be that pricey to optain the rights off and I can't see Sky/Setanta being interested (aside the last two bills).

I seriously hope that Hennessey's stable can build with some proper fights, get some real credibility and finally oust warren.
