When Thaxton's excellent lightweight campaign comes to an end, I wonder what he will do. Will he retire, will he bounce straight back. Or will he go for the British light welter title again, I wonder?

The best option for Thaxton would be a defence on the EBU crown on ITV IMO.

Thaxton needs to cash in at his age and his track record -- a world class opponent will derail any world title shot, and topugh domestic fights are just for a few hardcores -- the obvious choice is Amir Khan.

A nice tasy PR knockout to get himself 'into contention'.

With Khan won't it be the same rigmarole? Khan is Thaxton's top contender again, and we saw what happened last time. Pulled out of purse bids basically (rhetoric & side offers notwithstanding).

Yeah but Khan isn't as prescious to his promoter anymore. Toss him to the wolves. If he cant handle Thaxton he'll never be champ.
