So J.....tell me more about Vaughany. Since he's been crap I've been reminding everyone he was born in Lancashire.
well he was there with his family so its one of those you see him and then go nah cant go over but as we were sat right next to his table once the kids were playing he was happy enough to chat about anything but cricket.

So we did ...nice chap..has a really out of propertion long body though to his legs its a bit weird..but wa a nice guy...exchanged a few words and shook hands that was it really...

You know he had his 2 kids his wife and his parents there, the last thing he wants is to talk about cricket, I wouldnt be shy telling someone to fornicate off if they wanted to talk about the oil market if I was sat there with my family so i played it cool, think it was appreciated....

Though classic moment from my stepson "excuse me MR are you the England cricket captain"
"Ex" replied vaughan.... kids you gotta love em.

Tho the best one was when asked my mrs as she was getting obviously rotund "Mum are you gonna have a baby" yes she replied , "blooming hell does J know" :TU: think I might have had something to do with it son.... :DDD

Anyway I digress apparently Vaughan owns a property on the island near where Calzaghe just bought west moreland..west coast very exclusive, pricey...

Always thought Ian was too busy to pay attention to having more kids.

Seriously fantastic news - best editor around - bloody crime someone not using him for one of the nationals.

I'm absolutely sure this wasn't worthy of a thread but thanks pocket and everyone else.

Two daughters now - the elder two and a bit, the younger four days and counting! :TU:

As for mood swings, the mrs rolls up yesterday morning crying and says "I know I was crying yesterday because I was upset but now I'm crying because I'm happy!" :D

Doesn't stop people giving me a ring though - and they don't give a f*ck when I explain I'm busy either.

Paul O'Grady Show rang me yesterday wanting Audley to appear on the show (I was going to suggest a six-twos but they wouldn't have understood.) They needed a tall (6'3" plus), British, successful heavyweight (titlist) who would 'tower over' the presenter. I said if they find one could they let me know.

GMTV rang me this morning wanting Buckley's number...hope they manage to do something on him.

Thanks again for all the good wishes :TU:

Its a bit rough on Audley that Ian, I mean O'Grady strikes me as a gritty performer.

I too hope Buckley gets an affectionate rather than mocking feature on GMTV.

I thought Ron Lewis' tone in the Time was entirely wrong.

I think a view of his contribution needs to be balanced an even handed, he doesn't aim to win after all, but some respect for his role is fair and deserved.

Lewis didn't afford him that I didn't think.

Really? I'm surprised by that. In the last hour I've had three more calls from media chasing Buckley...the lad is going to be made up if he gets some decent press.

Dont know if he's picked his own headline but it was

"World’s worst boxer throws in the towel on lucrative career as human punchbag"

No way will he have picked his own headline. Not sure of the tone of the piece but this is the reason why most journos loathe sub-editors with a passion. Oliver Fennell excepted, of course. 8)

Bit late, but please accept my congrats as well, Ian. It really does seem like only yesterday that my two boys were that age and now they're 19 and 16. Time really does fly, so enjoy them while they're young, even though you're a very busy man.
