Even though Joe is faded himself - this is a mismatch and a nice fat retirement cheque for Joe.

Haye will KO Barrett as soon as he catches him flush. Haye is faster and bigger and Barrett while still a decent heavy, has often relied on his sound boxing and decentish movement to keep him away from trouble. He won't be able to escape from the lightning quick Haye.

Hatton should beat Malignaggi in an uneventful affair. Malignaggi will move and hold - Hatton will stalk and hit in the holds. I think Rickys forward motion will wear down Malignaggi to a fair if unspectacular points win.

Froch will win by Ko from around round 7 to 9. Pascal has skills and will be competitive early but his whiskers look shaky and I expect that 0 to go by KO.

I go along with the general feeling.

Calzaghe by a healthy UD.
Haye by KO in round two.
Hatton by SD in a scrappy fight.
Froch by KO in the middle rounds.

Jones will quickly lose interest if he can't land at will. Haye's initial apprehension should give him the impetus to throw big shots from the first bell. Hatton, because Malignaggi doesn't have the power to discourage his mauling. Pascal's pretty good when allowed to fight at a relaxed pace; Froch won't let that happen.

Hi Waylon, our posts were sent at almost the same time. Unusually, we've disagreed on two of the predictions. We shall see!

Calzaghe - Jones : I expect a Calzaghe win on points, I don't think Jones is going to outwork Joe, and Jones hasn't stopped anyone for over 6 years, so I see this fight going two ways, either a bore fest similar to Hopkins/Calzaghe that gives the haters even more ammunition to waffle with. Or a total slug fest, with Calzaghe reigning supreme. It depends what Jones wants to do.

Haye - Barrett : Going for Haye in this one, he has had the time to be prepared at the weight, and Monte is no more than fringe world class. Haye should win this with ease if he has true aspirations of winning the world title.

Hatton - Malignaggi : Hatton is slipping, but this match has been carefully selected, and I expect him to come through in what will be a good fight.

Froch - Pascal : I know little of Pascal, so can't comment on this one really. I hope Froch wins. It will be good for boxing in the UK. However we all know Froch can be made to look a bit silly, and if a limited Magee can trouble Froch, I tend to worry for Froch when it is a true slickster in front of him.

Absolutely, it isnt easy picking the winners but I just cant see all the Brits clearing the board, but nice if they did. Barret is a tough nut who wont go away, and I see Haye running out of steam throwing big bombs and getting nailed. I think Haye sees him as just a rung on the ladder on the way to Klitscho, but I may be wrong. I hope he takes Barret more seriously than that. I also think Haye still puts in too much too early in a fight. Froch is a bit slow and lazy in some fights and the low arm stuff will be his downfall at World level. Pascal is pretty decent and fast, and I think has a chance late on. Most seem to think Froch will win, and I hope they are right, but I just smell an upset here. Froch just hasnt had the fights that really test him. He has got used to stopping opponents, and if you are good you can, but that is much harder once you take on the top of your division. As you say we shall see.

Ohh well as normal people should go the opposite way to what I think!!!

Got to say though - I am having a nice little bundle on Malanaggi to beat Hatton - As a brit I want Hatton to win - but I just wonder if Cotto did not take too much out of Malanaggi and Malanaggi's last fight was just a blip - I think he has the necessary hand speed and footwork to out punch and out think Hatton - said it for some time it is my opinion Hatton struggles against Slick boxers - lets hope I am wrong again!!!

The thing is, for someone that's supposedly very slick, Malignaggi gets hit an awful lot. Pernell Whitaker he ain't.

I'm feeling less confident about my next prediction of a Hatton UD loss as time goes on. I think it was probably the fight which people are most divided on when making their predictions.
