Has Teddy Atlas ever been happy with a fighter >?

Yet it seems that it was Atlas' big moment.

I think it's reasonable to say Tyson's future vidicated Atlas' actions at the time. Tyson was scum from an early age, & never changed. You can always spot people like that. Age is just a number in the real world.

Didnt Gary Gliter say something similar ?:)

Nonsense.
Tyson was huge at aged 15, and trained to fight, and obviously very dangerous. He was knocking huge heavyweights unconscious. Was Atlas meant to go at him bare hands?
How would you teach Tyson a lesson if it was your underage relative he'd been messing with?
I'm intrigued.

As for Teddy... To me he seemed to want to hog his fighters limelight. His histrionics between rounds on Moorer fights were mostly needless. Moorer was controlling Botha for instance, boxing nicely, and every frickin rd Atlas was telling him he was letting his children down, he'll cry tomorrow, etc.
At some point you're going to hear so much negativity that you'll just tune out.

How would I handle it ??overhand_right wrote:Robinson wrote:This argument has been raised here a few times, but pulling a gun on a

Lets say he grabbed her ass ... I would confront him and if he was lippy I would
slap him.
If Tyson at 15 wanted to fight me, I would double leg him and take him to the
ground. BUT I think you would find that Tyson would have respected Atlas
and his authority and not tried to beat the man up.
I dont care how big he was at 15. I am bigger than my mum, but I respect
her authority. Tyson would have respected Atlas' authority had Teddy been
rationale.
That is how I would have handled it. I dont think the situation warranted a
gun.
NOW>>>>> If Tyson had of brutally raped the girl. I would have beaten him
to near death.
But he did not rape the girl or do anything close to that. He according to many
sources including Atlas at worse grabbed her ass.
If what Tyson had of done to the girl was that bad, to warrant pulling a gun...
why is it that ONLY Atlas did anything about it...? Why did the girls parents
not go to the police...why did Rooney do nothing...why did any of the other
people around Tyson at the time not do anything ???
Its easy to say now that they did not want to upset the apple cart because
Tyson was to be the champion. At that time, it was still a way of from
being a reality. Regardless of how 'big' and talented Tyson was at that
time.
Did I satisfy your intrigue ?

He spat in D'Amato's face, Kym, yet we're to believe he would have, "respected Atlas' authority!?"
He loved Cus. He didn't even like Teddy.

Slap the little punk.
In any case though, does pulling a revolver on a young
man (teen) give one any credibility ?

I don't see Tyson as an ordinary 15-year-old kid, that's all. We're perceiving different people.
Re: Has Teddy Atlas ever been happy with a fighter >?
spat in d'amatos face? please! ive read just about every book on tyson. seen every documentary. have all of his fights that were filmed, tons of magazines, i have spoken with steve lott several times, etc etc never NEVER have i heard from anyone that tyson spat in d'amatos face. Is that another one of teddy scarface's stories to make a fifteen year old look so bad and atlas look so good. i mean hell, like i said before atlas has gotten into numerous fights (almost always via the sucker punch route) which he starts and if you want to talk about being a delinquent he has a scar on his face from a friggin knife fight and this dumbass wants to paint himself as a paragon of virtue? give me a fuckin break! he pulled a gun on a 15 year old that grabbed his nieces ass. you wanna tell me you didnt grab anybodys ass at 15? did you deserve to have a gone stuck in your face and shot off by your ear to scare you? if you say yes your as crazy as teddy.
