Beagle,
Get over yourself.
Jealousy is a horrible thing.
Care to comment on the prelim to Harris v Witter ?
This is heavyweight boxing FFS.
It's not a care in the community project.
He's gettin a f@@kin fortune for a 10 rounder - so get round to Maccy D's and spend a bit.
Would MUFC pander to the whims and fancies of Arsenal when visiting Old Trafford ?
You take whatever advantage you can get - and you, more than most ought to know that.
More than ever, having been a bit bored with the lead up to this fight, do I hope Haye spanks him.

Man Utd would not be paying Arsenal to play at Old Trafford - a point worth raising, I thought, football teams do not play each other under contract to each other

Lewis-Ruddock time for Haye, but it could always be worse...

I keep thinking Lewis-McCall - Ruddock had some glamour to him, he was a dangerman

Thanks for enlightening me Mr Leach, I didn't know that
I see what you mean now, Bennie.
The point I was making, is that opponents in no matter what sport you're involved in, are not in the business of pandering to their opponents.
Wimbledon used to switch the hot water off in the opponent's showers.
Portsmouth used to forget to supply balls for the warm up.
Watford in the Winter would leave the heating off in the way dressing room.
So Barrett has to catch a cab, and has to pay towards his meals - tough shit.

I once walked into Josh Lewsey in Tesco express in wimbledon. And I mean walked right into, as we both came around opposite corners of a aisle. Bastard was huge...

I once bumped into Gary Mason squatting on his haunches in John Menzies, reading womens' magazines. He likes the horoscopes.

Saw Gary two weeks ago outside Wimbledon overland, reading a book, looked like he was waiting for someone. Was surprised at how small he looked, looked to have lost some weight , but his head was MASSIVE like one of those bull mastiff dogs.

I'm sure all of this disappoints those who were hoping that Hayemaker would be a kholkoz collective farm type of outfit. It must be demoralising to think that -- horror of horrors! -- they're trying to make money. What a disgrace! What a bunch of evil, cigar smoking, top heat wearing, blood sucking capitalists they are. I mean, only paying a fighter's wages, accomodation, and 210 pounds per week spendies. How can he survive, I wonder? While all the time, Haye and Booth lord it up in luxurious Cyprus leaughing and snarling and in control of poor, oppressed Barrett's means of production.
Barrett's just yapping about nothing. It wouldn't surprise me if this was a "give me more or I'm not fighting" kind of thing.
Anyway, Haye is brilliant -- not as a boxer, necessarily, although I think he's pretty darn good -- but as a provider of enterntainment. He doesn't demand 2 years and 6 fights against doormen, local pugs and middleweights, but goes straight in against the division's gatekeeper. And he could knock the other guy out, or be knocked out himself, at literally any time.
Good-ho, what-what?

So you are admitting they are pulling strokes then 26?
Ridicolous comment when you consider that:
1) Haye has set himself up as a 'boxers' promoter
2) Football teams don't get 'paid' to play each other. It is part of a league structure, and each has the opportunity of home advantage.
So you have never complained about anything when one of your fighters boxed on somebody elses show. Think carefully - because if you have, then you are a hypocrite.

Daft comment. You aren't fighting in front of millions people.
When Booth came out with all that crap about putting other promoters on notice it really pissed me off. Not finding it so easy now is he.

He also stayed above the Star and Garter in Hammersmith - at the time one of the noisiest and raucous pubs in West London, which meant he was kept awake all night long. Plus Turpin's management tipped everyone off to where he was, ensuring mobs of screaming autograph hunters hollering up at his window.

Sorry, but 30 GBP a day is pretty skinny. I live abroad but when i return to the UK on a buisness trip i get 33 GBP per day for food. Now, most of the time i'd be in meetings where food is laid on anyway, but even outwith that time (evenings and weekends), the 33 GBP goes pretty quickly. Although its mainly a food allowance (one is going to want to eat well), pick up a newspaper here and there, have a few drinks in the evening etc, visit the odd museum, gallery, places of interest etc without having to spend any of there own cash (they're on buisness, so why should they?). Given that Barrett is pretty much free (outside of his training) to go and do as he pleases, i can garauntee that not many in his circumstances would be to pleased with only 30 GBP per day to get by on in a weeks visit to London, especially considering the importance of why Barrett is here!

Don't know if we are talking about the same thing Terry, but I thought it was Haye doing the grunting when the guy (and I'm not sure it was Bunce, was it?) was asking questions

My mistake mate, was talking about the Setanta TV interview shown on Bunce's Boxing Hour (without Bunce). Dave was coming over all Barry White when he was being interviewed. Huh. Yeah. Mmm.

Barrett should pipedown! If he's that bothered about stopping at the Hilton then he should have had it writ in his contract or he should sort his own digs out. Haye and Barrett are probably deliberately blowing it out of proportion to build the fight (although I've not seen the YouTube clip yet due to being at work)

He is clearly copying off Bunce, the timescale proves it. All they need is a backing band, Phil Spector (sans guns) and a decent cabaret lounge, they will rake it in.
"Welcome to the Sugar 'Ray' Lounge. I'm Bunce, he can punch. We have got Andy Kerr on drums. Now, unnh, let me ask you-ahhh,, have you ever gone walking through the raaaaaaainahhhh! Shoobie-doobie-doo. Come on Dave, harmonise with me brother. Don't forget we are having a celebrity auction a little later on, the proceeds go towards feeding Monte, he was a big boy, we want him back that way again."
Could be a Christmas #1 in the pipeline.
Warned you already in the George Michael thread, no Shoobie-doobie-doo on this forum please.
