I can't believe some people on here, so Hatton should get in against men(Cotto, Margarito, Cintron, Clottey etc.) who will weigh as super middleweights on fight night.

If welterweight is Hatton's natural weight, as you keep insisting, then the welterweights like Margarito, Williams etc are all natural light-middles.

Fighting weight & natural weight are two completely different things in this day and age. I would like that to change but to fight at your natural weight when the standard practice is to drain 1 or 2 (and sometimes more) weight divisions at top level is insane.

Yup, his "off peak" diet is trash, just trash, but im told his training diet is second to none, so i imagine it all works out about equal, in the end.

I was going to write a long bit about motivation and peaking mentally and physically, but i cant be bothered now

Funny that because I think its only a matter of time until Ricky is either in the Jungle or promoting Canaloni for a £1 on an Iceland commercial.

Diet is one factor and with Hatton's style of fighting, a decline in his performances was inevitable by his late twenties early thirties wasn't it.

Didn't we all say that five years ago.

Hatton was never going to be cute counter-puncher or an elusive vet.

He's a come forward fighter, rare for them to be improving post 30.
Precisely why Hatton needs every ounce of fitness he has to maintain a style which requires a tremendous amount of physical output on Hatton's behalf.
