I'm probably not the best person to ask about this, because I'm certainly not Eddie Futch when it comes to the finer points of boxing mechanics, but I'm opinionated, so here goes.

First, Khan is still far too active, running and skating around the ring. He moves way, way back at such a rate of knots, and then almost runs back into position. He still needs to slow down and calm down. Get rid of this pond skater bug amateur movement, because that natural glide he has can be crafted into formidable movement. Second, he still reaches in with the occasional punch, letting fly before quite getting his feet in position. This will leave him open as he moves up. Third, he's hopeless at tying up on the inside. I don't think he knows how to do it, and it must be worked on. Usually, when in a position to mess things about and clinch, he just tried to slide away or block up until there was room. The one time he did try to clinch, he did it by cupping Fagans head with both gloves, rather than getting hold of his arms. Poor technique.

Those things aside, I thought he did look improved, albeit against weak opposition -- but hey, what would you expect in a comeback fight? 12 with Nate Campbell?

First, he held his hands close to his chin, blocking huge amouns of punches. His defence looked better whenever he wasn't leaning in with punches, as aforementioned. Second, he used his jab like he didn't in earlier fights. Everything came off it, and he doubled up on it on occasion, too. Excellent foundation. Third, his shot selection seemed more thoughtful, although at the pace they were fighting it was more difficult to tell. Fourth, there seemed to be more solidity to his shots. The power didn't quite seem to come solely has a product of speed. The right that kncoked Fagan down first was a beaut, short and heavy, rather than just snappy and fast.

So, I think there will be improvements, and there should be more to come. Hopefully, Khan will be back on a plane to the Wild Card before Christmas.

He managed to block some telegraphed swooping hooks from a smaller opponent.

This win means nothing. Sure as someone else stated the press will again jump on the Khan bandwagon and claim hes back to his best after this "fight"

But one of these days , sometime , hes gonna get hit on the chin again.

as said - these are the type of opponents he`s always looked good against, so there is nothing new to see :(

Way that I see it - he`s been knocked down and given jelly legs by non-punchers, 1st decent puncher he faced he got rocked by a jab and knocked cold by flush shots .. he can dominate against smaller less tallented light punchers but he will soon have to move up into a higher class again .. lets judge then.

I agree. Put him in with a Prescott type again, and lets see how he does. Then a judgement can be made.

Yup it also broke 2 of Fagans fingers, it fractured his pelvis, it gave him gonarrhoea and the middle toe on his left foot fell off. I told you it was an excellent shot

the thing thats really beginning to irk me is the continuous reference to pacman being ko-ed twice early in his career

pacman got stopped whilst twice at the flyweight limit .. anybody who has seen pacman will be amazed he could even boil down to that weight anyway ... the guy is broad boned,there was nothing on him at s-featherweight ... how he ever managed to boil down to 110lb is astonishing

And for the record, the 1st ko loss, whilst being from a head shot was when Manny was in his novice year as a pro .. the second was after he`d failed to make weight after being more or less carried to the scales .. he was stopped by a body shot.

Talked to Fagan yesterday. He was in hospital from Tues to Thurs and had surgery on a spiral break traveling up his fibula (over his ankle). Not a broken ankle as first thought. He said he thought it was his ankle initially but when they x-rayed it, it turned out that it was a break in his leg just an inch over the ankle but it was a nasty spiral break. They put a plate and screws put in his leg and said that the doctrs said he may not fight for a year, if at all. The Kid is devestated. He blew a big chance to further himself, but thems the "breaks", pardon the pun Hope he'll be OK though. We miss him here in OKC.

Hard luck to the fella - hope he recovers quickly and gets back in the ring.
