The obvious difference is there are lots of challengers to choose from at Welterweight. Bantamweight and below there are very few contenders.

These are my thoughts too and reading through the thread I am surprised no one else has mentioned Doherty either. It's a bit of a grudge match as the two don't like each other, plus Doherty is coming off the back of a good win over Barrie Jones.

Looking at Welterweight and you have a good list of fighters lining up for a crack at Brook: Thompson, Doherty, O'Donnell, Mutley, Bami (?), Lomax, Anderson, Watson, Jennings, Matt Hatton, Haughian, Barnes might soon be back up there. It's an enticing bunch.

hasnt docerty pulled out twice before

im not 100% sure but if he did, then he shouldnt get the nod

docherty did pull out twice before and he was offered the chance to fight kell for the vacant british title but turn that down aswell. i believe docherty has moveddown to light welter now but if he wants the title he will have to fight kell

Lomax would've been ideal, and even though Lomax is a south-paw, I feel that Kell's speed and power would be enough to get rid of Lomax, especially in a 12-rounder. It's also a low-risk, high-reward fight, and would've taught Kell a lot, given Lomax's height.

I agree with Celerey Golf.
It will be Brook v Lomax.
