I'm naive about the use of drugs in sport? Without meaning to brag -do you know what I do for a living? I've written articles on drugs in sport! Articles awaiting publication in peer reviewed journals in Sport and Exercise Science.

Just what in the blue hell has East Germans and Candanians (I will add that one) got to with Roy Jones?

I know lets criticise everyone who looks ripped shall we! Rediculous.

Infact, there are lots of reasons why I think Roy is clean.

1) He was an outstanding amateur, and olympian - he must have got tested on countless occasions.

2) The fight he should have tested positive for, if any was the Ruiz fight.

3) If he was an advocate of drugs, he would have done a far better job "assisted" in shifting the weight off and regaining his light heavyweight glory.

4)Innocent untill proven guilty.

I just cannot believe that now your WHOLE arguement, and the whole criticism on Glyn's work is based on Roy physique... which is impressive, but not out of this world.

Oh yeah, i've got news for you - drugs is rife in world boxing - shall we start accusing Joe of juicing?

I'd love for Glyn to do an editorial on this thread.

Hmmmmm you can't be that good at your job or you would know that drug testing in pro boxing is laughable, you would also know that there are many, many ways to beat a test especially if rudimentary (this is the reference to East Germans - they passed many a test, but are clearly not clean.)

I suppose you are going to suggest that Jameel MCline and Andrej Golota are clean just because they have never failed a test? Your argument that if he was going to fail a test, he would've failed after the Ruiz fight is a joke.....Tests are far, far from foolproof as already mentioned. I also suppose you are going to argue that Ben Johnson only ever juiced in SeouL?

Is Jones is so clean why has he never tried to sue those repeating the allegations? Him, Mosley, MCline, Golota are the clearest substance abusers in boxing.

Based on what precisely? Where's your evidence?

So if drugs testing is so poor, we should all just guess who we think are Steroid abusers

BUT (and this is my main point) Jones was / is a well known steroid abuser.

1.HE failed a test

2. (possibly as many as four) -

3. it's only because testing in boxing is so shoddy and users have many techniques to mask usage that he didn't fail more.

4. Just by looking at his body, his musculature is pumped and juiced. It is not a natural body.

5. SO jones has competed (most probably) most of his career on steroids. Thsi would give him a huge advantage in speed, power and strength..

1. He failed an A sample but not a B Sample, the results of the test were never positive, he could have tested positive for Ephedra or Nandrolone, we don't know

2. Evidence? I suspect this is you making up stories

3. Suposition, I could say the same about any boxer

4. Umm are you fat? Its not too difficult to be muscular, ripped to shreds at 175 when your life has been dedicated to boxing, you've got the best nutritionists, training and supplements

5. Supposition and not based on facts

Now maybe RJJ did use steroids, but the evidence just isn't there. There are a host of boxers who do use steroids mainly in the HW division

No your arguement isn't entirely based on the steriod "abuse" - but that is the MAJOR point.. you are discrediting the career of a legend... so not just this editorial, but countless other editorials in Jones' 20 year career - based on hearsay and actually bollocks.

I'd love to no these 4 times, why such a specific number.

Of course Johnson wasn't the only the person who took performing aids. Indeed, Silver medalist in Soul (Christie) tested positive, both samples, in that very games (in the 200 metres) but got away with it by saying the product he took ginseng, and the panel agreed that this was purely accidental. Christie should have been stripped IMO.

Also a British Judo Bronze Medalist, did get tested positive and stripped.

Yes, I am sure Flo Jo took stuff... innocent untill proven guilty though, but slightly different case with her - cause she did DIE at 42.

So if Roy dies in the next few years - and 20 years of Steriod abuse, its remarkable he is alive at 39 - then yep, I will slag off his career also.
