If Maloney has Davies signed up then why would he care? Answer: he won't!
Yes this was a fight for me to get back in, i knew it wouldnt of been the easyiest coz of how big he is, but when did i say id stop davis in 1 round. Telling everyoneneil hibbert wrote:lets be honest martin you were telling every1 u wer gonna stop davis in the 1st round and that he was a stepping stone 4 a title shot, that is why he was shouting at the end of the fight not showing disrespect.
What do you mean?neil hibbert wrote:lets be honest what respect was shown to him before the fight?
Whether there was respect or not the OTT celebrations were uncalled for. Once Martin was stopped and clearly hurt Davies didn't give a monkey for his welfare.neil hibbert wrote:lets be honest martin you were telling every1 u wer gonna stop davis in the 1st round and that he was a stepping stone 4 a title shot, that is why he was shouting at the end of the fight not showing disrespect. lets be honest what respect was shown to him before the fight?
Power was 'hurt' in the sense that he was stunned but I actually thought the stoppage was quite premature. Okay the fight did seem to be going that way, but as soon as martin got rocked it took 1/2 grazing shots that had little effect and the referee stepped in. Maybe it was just the angle I saw it from.chris s wrote:Whether there was respect or not the OTT celebrations were uncalled for. Isn't it a good thing for Davis to get called out? It is surely better than being ignored.neil hibbert wrote:and i hope davis knocks out booth aswell for calling him out on sky!!!
Juan Manuel Lopez might have something to say about that.neil hibbert wrote:he was hurt at the end of the 1st, then was taking repeated shots then an uppercut which was right on the button and theres no way out for martin and the ref saved him from more punishment, believe me no1 punches harder than davies at that weight
that would be a good toe to toe fight lolfatton wrote:Juan Manuel Lopez might have something to say about that.neil hibbert wrote:he was hurt at the end of the 1st, then was taking repeated shots then an uppercut which was right on the button and theres no way out for martin and the ref saved him from more punishment, believe me no1 punches harder than davies at that weight

The only thing that i did say was at Breakfast to my Trainer and that was " What an Ugly fella Davis is "..
yeah what a cracking fight that would be...neil hibbert wrote:that would be a good toe to toe fight lolfatton wrote:Juan Manuel Lopez might have something to say about that.neil hibbert wrote:he was hurt at the end of the 1st, then was taking repeated shots then an uppercut which was right on the button and theres no way out for martin and the ref saved him from more punishment, believe me no1 punches harder than davies at that weight
I actually agree with you for once, Spud... although I'll stop short of slinging swear words about... Frank Maloney does indeed look after his boxers. He looks after the fans, too, by consistently putting on VFM promotions.Spud wrote:Horse your thread is f*cking stupid in my opinon - Frank Maloney in my opinion looks after his fighters in the best way he can - he gives them chance after chance sometimes when they do not deserve it and in addition he gives his fighters much needed paydays - and by matching them tough and in TV fights it ups the money for the fighter as well and puts food on the table.Horse wrote:I don't think Maloney should have let him though. No need for the potty mouth Spud. Do you really think that it was in the best interests of Martin Power to match him so tough after his defeat to Munyai?Spud wrote:I think Frank Maloney has done extremely well for Martin Power - despite the defeats Frank has given Martin another go and another so looking at it that way - I think you are a stupid **** for posting this thread.
I have had many rucks with Frank over the years - but the one thing for certain is that he looks after his fighters - so I will emphasise my point that you are a stupid **** for posting this thread - if people and you disagree with that I have no problems - but just look at your title - what a stupid ****.
Gary Davies didn't look an overly ambitious match on paper. I don't have a problem with it.Horse wrote:So, you do think that matching Power tough was the right thing to do? Four losses in a row will surely be hard to come back from.Spud wrote:Horse your thread is f*cking stupid in my opinon - Frank Maloney in my opinion looks after his fighters in the best way he can - he gives them chance after chance sometimes when they do not deserve it and in addition he gives his fighters much needed paydays - and by matching them tough and in TV fights it ups the money for the fighter as well and puts food on the table.

I would have thought that by taking less money now and picking up a win; it would be better for him in the long run when he can make more money at British, Commonwealth or European level, instead of losing in a comeback fight against a relative unknown.
Why did Booth call him out?neil hibbert wrote:yes i agree and davis went to shake hands with power and have some photos after the fight. now hope to see him ko booth
not really sure why he decided to call gary out but i dont think that fight will happen as booth is looking 4 a bigger payday than defending his title again, plus dont fancy him to last long against davis powerbanjo wrote:Why did Booth call him out?neil hibbert wrote:yes i agree and davis went to shake hands with power and have some photos after the fight. now hope to see him ko booth
