Power and strength is what troubles Khan.

Movement is what can trouble Murray.

I see McAllister and yes Scott Lawton as decent fights for Murray. But all the same I cannot see the Michael Gomez of the Johanesson and Khan fights making any kind of impact on Murray.

I wrote Harrison off after his first fight too.

Tyson Fury is a bum. Simple.

Even if he is a bum - which I don't know, because I wasn't really paying attention to his fight - he can make a bit of money before anyone finds out. There is always fascination with a big great heavyweight hopes, promoters can never resist, but over here it seldom goes anywhere.

Chisora has improved immensely.
Saw his debut and really didnt think he was upto much, but he's come on in leaps and bounds.

Seems like the heavyweights always get us talking. Hence the Murray thread mutating into a Fury thread.

Back to Murray. Hope he wins on Sat. The following week there is Lawton v Castle and I'd love to see Murray beat McAllister and take on the Lawton-Castle winner.

I can't be arsed cutting and pasting, but coming back to defend myself a bit, somebody said Tyson Fury's a rubbish boxer, there's a comment above along the same lines, and a few other negative ones.

My point was, putting the boot in or writing a guy off after a first round win in his pro debut seems to be a bit daft to me. At this point in his career it could go either way, but getting rid of the opponent in a round is as good as can be hoped for in your debut. His promoter seemed very happy, ditto his trainer, and ITV liked it too.

Good luck to him, anyway.

Sorry mate - but your logic is again flawed.

Was his win actually as good as could be hoped for? Just for the sake of the argument, say he beat Audley Harrison on pts over four rounds. Wouldn't that have been more impressive?

And as for his promoter looking happy - what do you expect! He is trying to sell him!

When you zoom in on things to this degree, it just gets silly. Heavyweight prospects turn pro against bums, and getting rid of them early is the general idea/ideal scenario.

To come up with hypothetical scenarios like if Tyson Fury had turned pro and won a decision over Audley Harrison, and if so would that have been a better outcome than what actually happened, is a bit daft to me so I'm going to leave this thread alone now.

I posted a few comments in response to what I thought were premature judgements on a young fighter who's only had one round of boxing as a pro. That remains my view but I'm not that bothered really

Nah I was having a pop at Gomez !!! for giving the promoter and even Fury for so called "having" to turn pro when he did - or "everything was done in a rush".

I will repeat myself - I hope Fury succeeds it will be good news to see some more heavyweights coming through!!! - good luck to him.

well i heard that murrays people went to khans people to negotiate a fight between the pair but murray does not want to challenge for his British titles so the fight fell through.

Looking forward to tomorrow - I hope we see the Murray from the Meager fight, if we do, then McAllister's stands no chance.
