OK, my original point still stands, the only person left for Hatton after beating Mallignagi at 140 was the Pacman, if he wont fight him, then Hatton should move up and on towards someone like Cotto / Margarito, not fights moving up to his weight class.

I totally agree with ForceFraser. Seems to me like this fight "falling through" will somehow justify Oscar stepping in and fighting Hatton, which was the original plan until Pac refused to follow the script.

Could well be right! Thing is I expect a lot of people have no real interest in seeing De La Hoya v Hatton. Mind you, non hardcore fans will probably not even know that De La Hoya got hammered last time so they could get away with it!!

All seemed lost for The Hitman when his showdown with P4P #1 Manny Pacquiao fell through, but he found some consulation with another potential blockbuster summer fight that would see him return to the UK for the first time since his win over Juan Lazcano last year.

The potential fight could see Hatton once again do business with his former promoter, but his father Ray doesn't believe that this will be a problem.

On Barrera.

You don't get more world class than Barerra, and in my honest opinion, that would actually be a bigger fight for Ricky at this stage of his career. He has handled lightweight with ease, and I feel he'd make the step up to 140 just as easily."

They both come across as being greedy bast**** in my opinion. 52/48 or 55/45, who gives a flying fcuk, if either man fancies the job they should have accepted the offer.

What will either of them do now? Pacquio has no superfight available that i can see, so he's likely to be getting only 15% to 30% of what he would have against Hatton. As for Hatton, he's at the tailend of his career and its apparent to most that he needs Pacquio much more than the Pacquio needs Hatton. Who's he going to fight next? Marquez seems the only viable name IMO and he's sure to get only a fraction of what he would have against Pacquio for that one, but the fight is likely to carry the same risk factor.

Its madness, and all for a few dollars more. Greedy bast****!!!

Have to echo your frustration here. For all the 'I want to fight the best' bollocks, it's almost always about money.

I've heard Pacquiao might fight Valero. Now, you have to say, that would be good.

I think it's quit pathetic how they are moaning about money when the economy is the way it is at the moment. It doesn't matter if the split is 50/50, 55/45, 60/40 or whatever they are both still going to make millions.

I don't think it's about money but pride. They both have more money than they know what to do with it's just they both want the other side to back down and refuse to lose face even if that means giving up a multi million payday.

I'm hoping Mayweather and Manny can do business (preferreably at 140), that'd be a special fight

Pac got greedy. Even his promoter Arum admitted it was Pac asking for too much that caused the problems. It was Pacquiao's fault.

However, what a lost opportunity for Hatton, just over a few percent. He had a decent chance of beating the smaller man, and could have used that to go into something massive where he was the legit draw.

I'm not convinced Ricky is a superstar outside the UK yet - he looked great v Malignaggi, but the one massive event he was in he was thoroughly beaten (Mayweather).

So now he's fighting Pac's leftover crums, the remains of DLH perhaps? What kind of draw is DLH after getting anihillated by the much smaller Pacquiao?

If Diaz beats Marquez, I can see Diaz being a good opponent for Hatton. Diaz is a potentially marketable guy if he has a name like JMM on his list of scalps. Action fighter, exciting, well behaved college boy image (and all that crap). But this is IF he beats Marquez.

Two problems I have the Valero rumour; 1) I thought Edwin wasn't medically cleared to fight in the US. 2) The TR lawyer (Bill Whatisface) said Pacman couldn't make 135 anymore.

My money's on him fighting Floyd.
