I Only recall him saying it in small interviews to show his confidence. i have never seen him calling him out and saying he is the best. I think that's just how he is, he gets nervously excited in interviews and says all sorts.Emerson Poncey Name Ghent wrote:I have a problem with a boxer that hasn't even won the British title saying he'll beat Pacman after his demolision of Diaz. I found that disrespectful. That's the only reason why I'm not so keen.
I don't mind gobby fighters that can back it up with skill and prove themselves to us; (Froch, Haye, Mayweather Jr).
Im sorry, Muslims? There are plenty of Muslims who respected guys like Muhammed Ali, Hopkins etc., and non-Muslim Boxers. There are far more idiots from other backgrounds mate.
Amir Khans large band of Pakistan/Muslim followers are racist more so than the boxing fans who dont like him. I've seen them first hand and they hate white/black people. They also know f all about boxing.
I think he's funny. If he was white though, I'd hate the bastard.emma wrote:James Degale comes across as arrogant IMO. If Barrera knocks him out, Barrera will probably be accused of being racist.Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:Racist bastard. 8)stujones wrote:IF, and I stress it an if, Khan faces Barerra - then I hope that will be the end of him being labelled "a ducker" or whatever the term is these days.
If Murray signed to fight Barerra, there would be hundreds of posts of how brilliantly brave Murray is.
This is a huge fight for Khan, and one where I see him losing.
Didnt see it myself but yes he does seem an idiot. Most people as well as boxing fans dont like arrogant show offs (Chambers excluded) so if they want fans to see them win rather than lose, they need to have a re think about the image they are creating.emma wrote:James Degale comes across as arrogant IMO. F*cking funny as...you were an ignorant bastard not to use makaton to help them understand your slurs though. Racist and...erm...deafist.Terence wrote:When Amir was KO'd by Prescott a few Asian fans in front of where I was sitting started celebrating and laughing. I screamed, "Racist Uncle Toms! How much is The Man paying you to spread these negative vibes, man?!" They were both deaf, so probably saw this white guy shouting at them and thought, "Red neck cracker!"
It literally is a hornets nest.
So what, exactly, is your point about racism?observer1 wrote: I agree about him not facing domestic opposition, i think he'd beat Thaxton easily, but would be interesting for him to match up against other domestic fighters. But it's the same with anyone.
Even Hatton is getting stick for not facing Witter and Calzaghe getting stick for not facing Froch (or anything decent fighter in their Prime).
You mean by the Pakistanies, there you go then more race cards from the Asian community, not the white British.Autobarn wrote:If Barrera knocks him out, Barrera will probably be accused of being racist.Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:Racist bastard. 8)stujones wrote:IF, and I stress it an if, Khan faces Barerra - then I hope that will be the end of him being labelled "a ducker" or whatever the term is these days.

It is egotistical of anyone to drive a vehicle carelessly and put people's lives at risk. It makes me sick. As long he stops though, then at least he's learned a lesson.observer1 wrote:The only negative thing i have seen about him is probably the car accident, but it was hardly egotistic of him, it was just him being careless.
Oh aye, you'll get plenty more where that comes from.J wrote:well as i live as a white person in a predominately coloured country let me tell you just as much racism occurs here its not just white on coloured.
The fact of the matter is though that it only bothers you if you let it bother you.
Most folk are intelligent enough to reliase that good people are good people irrespective of skin colour creed or religion. And thankfully that is the majority.
But you get the odd incident, supermarket being a favouriti ive actually q'd up waiting to pay for the woman at the desk to close the cashier then open it again once i had moved. (Wouldnt mind but my 7 month prengant wife was with me.)
then again that could just be my aftershave.
water off a ducks back as far as im concerned.
I am living in another country, therefore i try to integrate, celebrate the same holidays and cultures (emancipation day for example) and generally fit in.
Those who cry racism often are doing to suit thier own needs and mkaing issues out of things that really are nothing of the sort or so inconsequential that it isnt worth kicking off about.
Maybe I should have demanded to see the manager of the supermarket, and complained but to be frank i couldnt be arsed and wanted to get down the beach.
I get what you mean with all the problems in the World why would God be interested in helping Amir Khan win his fight. The big problem with all religions is that they all humanise God, seeing him as a wise old man looking down on us and answering our prayers. Its a rediculous concept yet so many of all faiths believe in that image of God. That leads people to bless or turn on God for the things that happen, believing God has either intervened or alternatively ignored our prayers. I believe God is the life force of all living things on our planet, not an old man sitting up on a cloud. Just an opinion like everything else on this forum.Herol wrote:It is egotistical of anyone to drive a vehicle carelessly and put people's lives at risk. It makes me sick. It is also egotistical of any human to pray to an imaginary friend and believe that the universe has been created by a celestial dictator, with us in mind, and yet that dictator allows so much suffering to go on. The egotism is a natural extension of the ridiculous lack of logic in all religion.
I dont think either can be the case, unless 2nd comming means life after Prescott.Terence wrote:If god is with Amir, and Amir was allowed to be knocked out, does that mean god is racist, or that Amir is the second coming?
Christ thats a bit strong but at least you are not hiding behind what you believe like a lot do. Thing is black people know their history so why would they like you. Its unreasonable of course to blame you for what your ancestors may have done but thats human ignorance.Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:Oh aye, you'll get plenty more where that comes from.J wrote:well as i live as a white person in a predominately coloured country let me tell you just as much racism occurs here its not just white on coloured.

I used to play for a football team where, usually, I was the only white lad (in the Caribbean). I warmly remember one away trip to the arsehole of the island where the occasional touches I managed we greeted by 'Kill de white man!' and 'Brek 'im leg!'.
Even a lot of my team mates used to call me 'white man'. I suppose I could have let it get on my wick - if I wasn't the superior race.
How would you go about this then, observer1?observer1 wrote:I really think Boxing Fans need to clear out the scum.
Wasnt sure Ian, I wouldnt be that brave even as a prank. TBH it didnt really seem you to say something like that.Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:If you're meaning my last 'superior' comment mate, my tongue was firmly in my cheek.
Just baiting the idiot(s) who think some of us are motivated by racism.

No I do not get the picture!!! :x :xobserver1 wrote:Apart from the Race factor, im wondering, what other reasons are there.
Not taking a pop, but wondering how guys like Hatton can get photographed with women and can get away with his ridiculous drink habits, and Calzaghe allegedly "cheating" on his wife is brushed under the carpet by "Boxing Fans". etc. You get the picture.
A cousin of my mother married a German man and the family cut her off all except my Mother. None of her neighbours spoke either. The thing is he came here just before the outbreak of war because he didnt agree with what was happening in Germany. He spent the war working in an office in London and supported Britain entirely. Very sad that this respectable couple had such a horrible time in post war Britain. We still enjoy reminding German people about a war they just want to put behind them. Fawlty Towers as many will know has just 12 episodes. The Germans think there are only 11 though.J wrote:werent me mate, was years ago, do we still persecute the germans for what happend 60 years ago most dont.
