It's a long line...
Khan beat Earl who beat Romanov who beat Thaxton.

Irrespective of one mans p4p list, how has justice been done by Dunne getting a crack at Cordoba? Surely Munroe deserves a little credit for outboxing the guy who blew away Dunne?

States , to me it was obvious that Munroe did not want to fight Dunne. Substantial offers were made by peters for the fight between Dunne and Munroe and these were turned down , so then Dunne options were limited. Then Dunne expressed interest in a world fight. Now that this world fight has been made it has emerged that Cordobas people were in talks with munroe and Martinez they apparently weren't too interested in this fight. Dunne was Cordobas last choice but the offer from peters was too good to refuse. I presume munroe is going to keep fighting in leisure centers with small crowds because imo Munroe is a level below Dunne.

The thing is, I have no knowledge of offers made to fighters. If you do know more than me, then fair enough. Having no knowledge of negotiations behind the scenes, I can only go on what I see in the ring, and I felt it was a little unfair of you to claim that Munroe hadn't "beaten any decent opposition and also imo has ducked Dunne" when he'd beaten the guy that smashed Dunne.

I wish Dunne all the best against Cordoba, but I'm not sure how you square Dunne as Cordoba's last choice, as opposed to a fighter who, as you say, fights in leisure centres. Surely Dunne was the biggest money?

Well according to Cordoba's manager(in a radio interview on RTÉ) they offered the fight to all of Munroe, Martinez and Dunne and Dunne was the only one that answered them back, he then said Dunne was the one they wanted to face the least as they felt he was the most threat.

But from a financial point of view Dunne is probably the one they wanted the most and if they were aware of Dunne's drawing power financially before negotiations with any party had started I'm sure is the one they'd have wanted.

When Munroe beat Martinez to win the European title, Dunne was ranked 13th in the rankings. I felt I had to enter Munroe above Dunne, so I entered Munroe in high at No.13 moving Dunne down a place. Since then he has made a few defences and has climbed into the top 10.

Perhaps Munroe is a few places too high, but only by about 2 or 3 places at most. If he beats Martinez again later this month, then I think Munroe will be considered a more solid member of the P4P top 10.

In the past 2 years Calzaghe's record has been better with wins over Kessler and Hopkins.
boxerbob wrote:*calzaghe best win is vs kessler , hattons is vs tyzuz (sp)....no comparison
Tszyu was old and inactive, whereas Kessler was in his prime. Both excellent wins, and I don't think the difference in merit between the two victories is a huge amount.
boxerbob wrote:*calzaghe struggled badly vs an old man in hopkins and has not fought the best in his title reign
Hopkins was in the top 10 P4P at the time, and he is still in that list even now.
boxerbob wrote:*hatton is fighting the best fighter on the planet for the 2nd time , he wanted to be tested thats why he left warren , calzaghe was happy fighting wbo bums for 10 years

hatton can look back at his career and say he fought the best and in thier prime , calzaghe cant.
Maybe so, but recently Calzaghe has been beating highly rated P4P fighters, and is considered to be higher than Hatton in the World P4P rankings by almost everybody.

No point in arguing about Calzaghe's place any more. He's out!

Thaxton is the European champion, and Khan recently got destroyed in a single round by an unproven prospect. So, I feel that Thaxton should be ranked above Khan at this moment in time.

Khan beat Earl who beat Romanov who beat Thaxton.
It didn't happen in a lineal way though did it? Anyway, the Earl who lost to Khan was a shadow of the Earl who beat Romanov.

Hatton was CRUSHED like a bug by Mayweather.

He might be able to look back asn say he was CRUSHED.

Pacman is NOT the best on the planet.

A 10st Calzaghe DESTROYS Hatton.

Calzaghe is by far the Superior fighter...by far!

I don't think that either Hatton or Calzaghe would destroy each other in a P4P fight.

1) OK

2) JMM is superior to Pacman. He won 10 out of 12 in the 1s fight and won the rematch by 2 points imo.

3) Hatton wold be crushed. Even a Mayweather who hardly threw any punches toyed with him, what would a relentless fast hard punching granite chinned great engined fighter do to him. Calzaghe KO 7.

Okay, but I scored the fight to Pacquiao by one point and most consider Pacquiao to be the P4P number 1.

Calzaghe was floored by Hopkins and Roy Jones, I am not sure his chin is still made of granite. I doubt Calzaghe would knockout a fighter of the calibre of Hatton at this stage in his career, if he couldn't knockout Roy Jones.
