The IABA will be compensated aswell as the Chinese federation,if Egan is matched with the Gold medal winner, Katie Taylor(generally considered the best female amateur p4p), Paddy Barnes(Bronze medal winner from Olympics) and Ray Moylett(Gold medal winner at World Youth Championships) will all be on the card aswell.

Professionals fights on the undercard are Jim Rock v Allesio Furlan, and Andy Murray v TBA.
I think the amateurs will be matched well and I'm certainly not against this type of thing, it has been done many times in the past and amateur fighters deserve more public exposure.

ProAm shows are great.

I attend Pro and Ama shows around Ireland and to be honest many of the Ama fights are better than the Pro undercards we get at times. Tho theres rarely any drink to be had at the higher lvl competitions

It's not like Peters has picked a few wee lads from a local club or that to go in for gimme fights. He has secured the cream of Irelands Ama boxers and matched them with good opposition. Its a great stage for the Ama's to be performing on. It might even get a few more interested in the Ama side of the sport, which in my eyes isn't a bad thing. :box:

I can't think of a sport that DOESN'T have a lot of amateur participants. That said, a lot of them will never perform in front of a paying crowd, although a lot do.

I've paid to see amateur football, showjumping and athletics in the past.

I work with a bunch of bloody Amateurs all boody day in my office!
