my girlfriend said 'he looks quite nice' 8)

says it all really

however if he trains and gets rid of the excess and learns to put some weight into his punches he can get some good fights with the likes of sexton/ rogan but not much more

Well he is called Tyson. :) Unfortunately for him, his namesake would've rolled Shrek through the ropes in his prime.

He'll do quite well because of his height and ability to tie opponents up. ITV were keen to play down the 'no power' talk tonight. They're right that every heavyweight can punch, but if the shots aren't landing cleanly and your chin isn't McCall-grade, then you do have to choose opponents wisely.

They need to find him a proper night's work next time, because he's already in danger of following Khan's career path. Not in terms of progression of course - it's only his third fight, but in the way that bad habits will take hold after too many walkovers. I think he'll become a solid British-level heavy.

I guess my 1st comment seems harsh .. it wasn`t really meant that way :(

It seemed as if he was trying to be `cute` in there tonight ...

But it just made him look like ... well, kinda like one of those kids that walk into a gym for the 1st time and `think` they can box like Naz

I guess it didn`t help when he was twice the height of his opponent ... and his opponent was twice as fat as his lardy self.. :-?

He did come across well in front of the camera .. and I hope he doesn`t read this post ... cos he`s f*(%ing huge :D

I can see him contending for the Commonwealth title in another year or so. I honestly can.

Yea great - get a 3 fight novice in against a national / continental level fighter - that'll prove everything.

3 fights he's had. Three. 1. 2. 3. Yes he's not fighting Ali or Tyson (Mike) yet, but who did in their 3rd **ckin fight??? This place is priceless. Will look forward to "quoting" you in 4-5 years time as he picks up a belt and you're saying you always knew he'd be a world champ.

not overly impressed with the big man tonight was keeping an eye on him after his last fight but think he's going to get put in with a live opponent too quickly and get found out. Liked the look of him last time round but looks like he's took on too much advice and ended up putting in a less than great performance in the little time we seen. Get in there and get the job done maybe reserve a bit more energy than last time but not too much wrong with his last performance so why change so much.

Iono why all the bad press on him is about. The kid is just a kid, and is just starting out, he has size, is a handsome guy, has power. So what if he had an off night, he's just starting out. I dont know of anyone who looked like a million bucks in their first few fights. Give him time, match him up right, and who knows, he may very well fight the Sprott's and Harrison's in a year or two.

I wouldnt criticize him too badly. We should be encouraging, rather than this, its been a long time since the division has had any sort of buzz.

I like Fury. Yes, that fight was stopped too early but Fury would've got him out of there regardless, something Chisora couldn't do.

I think all of us, certainly the judgemental types of which I'm one, make a decision about a fighter after we've seen thwem twice.

My judgement is that he is too tall to be a cruiserweight, cos he aint got the body to be a h/w. He needs to lose 20lb (he's not 13yrs old FFS). From there he needs to look at basic fitness and core strength development. He deffo reminds me of Audley in all those regards.

OK i'm being very cruel with my Sprotty comment, that was more relevant to my Audley comparison.

And btw everyone, there would not be message boards if we werent such judgemental and condemning feckers.

Seems a nice kid, not bad looking, articulate, nice manner about him.

As for his skills he moves very well for his size, has very good feet, nice jab, and mixes his shots up well. He needs to works on his power a bit, but an improvement in technique will help that.

All in all a good prospect. Apart from Haye, probably our best prospect at Heavyweight.

Id imagine he will sell a few tickets too.

The fight last night shows how raw Fury still is. He got the win, but he didnt look good. Talking about taking on the big names is laughable. Rogie would destoy his 0 without a doubt.

Fury lands good lefts to the body, but he hasn't got a left hook to the head.
not seen him throw one powerful left hook in all 3 fights

We need to see how he takes a shot before drawing any conclusions. I get the impression that the first fighter to have a real go at him might land a bomb and then we will see what old fury is made of.

Give him a bit of a break. Of course, unproven and there are many more fihgters worthy of attention. He threw sharper shots this time, looked a bit leaner, I saw him do a jab-right-left hook combo while pulling up his shorts at the same time. That takes talent. His size will take him to some domestic titles I'd think; we'll eventually find out how far he's going.

He's no Audley - he throws lots of shots, is aggressive, etc.

Erm, if his family chose to positively use the descriptive to promote themselves, then yes I expect it would.

You need to focus your anger at Tyson Fury and his father
