James James James!

Leave the brashness at home, you are on TV and national radio!

Does he really have the temperament?

Bwoy....

How to make friends and influence people.......NOT!

James, you are not Naz or Eubank.

You were booed - accept it and be gracious.

Darren Sutherland - would Frank Maloney allow you to be his Mentor?

James needs to relax.

Degale is going nowhere. You can quote me on that.

I don't like to pronounce on fighters early in their career's, but I'm confident with this pick.

i was shocked how poor he was which may be a bit harsh but he was slapping, he looked like a amatuer and he got caught way to easy. I hope the guy does well and its going to be long road if he fights like that and not a good sign that he's already coming out with excuses.
yeah too much pitty patting.

and guilty of not going thru the gears.

still got good skills.

come out of ya shell and you'll get it.

Degale was cack. He was fighting as if he still had the headguard on, slapping out shots trying to score computer points, rather than letting his opponent know he was there.

Gavin took a while to get going, but you can see the ability he has.

Saunders is the one who looks like a real fighter. He saw the guy in front of him, and he wanted to hurt him.

Pro boxing and todays amateur game are like two different sports. I think this will be more evident as we watch the new crop of professionals (including myself) fresh out of the olympics progress over the next couple of years.

I am living my dreams fighting as a professional and can honestly say Im so happy to say goodbye to that computer scoring system. Very frustrating all these years feeling contrained by that system. Now i can get in and fight! :)

For those interested, preparations have gone great and looking forward to my second pro fight this friday. The opponent is not something i have control over as I can only fight who they put in front of me. But I'm eager to progress and hopefully it wont be long before im stepped up in level.

cheers

Daz

BJ Saunders looked good but come on that was the biggest mismatch of the night,. That dude was small enough to be his son

Doing Bolo punches against a Georgian road sweeper does not impress me. Nor does hands down styles of fighting.

Gavin looked ok but looks like he might be for the boxing connoisseurs (spelling?) a on initial viewing his style doesn’t look that fan friendly

Degale looked rubbish. Got hit the most, didn’t throw the jab properly and was pawing and slapping with some of his punches. Also, perhaps he didn’t read the small print when he signed the contract. Today he said he will look good when he has a fighter who wants the same as he does in he ring. 2012 is a long time to wait James

Maybe that is the problem with De Gale?

He might be better suited to point scoring and others prefer the pro game? Time will tell.

Anyway....

Good luck with your fight and no biting off radio interviewers heads( for those who missed the Radio5 live commentary De Gale did exactly that)!

James Degale made his pro debut on 28th February 2009 on the same card as Gavin and Saunders. He was booed for being so crap and amateurish.

In the post fight interview he looked to promoter allegedly to defend him but Fwank looked furious like a father would look at family pet who just pooed on the carpet.

He won in controversial style prompting comparisons with other British medal winners who failed such as Audley Harrison and Amir Khan. He was shown up by the superior performances of fellow amatuer stars turning pro, Frankie Gavin and Billy Joe Saunders.

Degale just needs to adapt to the pro's, all tonights problems can be solved, if he was the putting full power in to his shots people would have been raving about him.

Can not remember but it was something like - when asked why people were booing he said .....

'Don't tell me dat - what did you expect me to do? then looked to Fwank.

Too arrogant.

He will learn.

but hopefully he concentrates on the fundemental aspects of the sport rather then this flicking & peppering of meatless shots.

Well then maybe he should spend more time training then posing nude for womens magazines.
