OK, fair enough. Admittedly I didn't see it. However it does sound like they're being harsh on him. Other boxers wouldn't get booed like that being tentative on their debut. The price of fame, I guess.
Aye mate. Just before his fight he was saying he was gonna' put on the best performance out the Olympians. BJS and Gavin looked keen in their fights, Degale was a bit of an anti-climax and the boos only came in later on..

What happened to keeping your trap shut and just getting on with it? No sign of BJS or Frankie Gavin giving it the big 'un before the fight, effing hell he got warned for clowning around during the refs instructions. As I said though judging how good he can be we'll need to wait until he's got a dozen bouts on his record until we can have a better idea, I wasn't impressed by his debut but he won and that's all that matters.

I thought it was disgusting that Degale got booed by the fans at the NIA. Have these people been to a boxing match before?? I used to rip into the yanks about their fans booing fights, looks like I'll have to stop now though as some our fans seem just as inbred as theirs

I thinke veryone should give the lad a break. He's only had one pro fight.Let him just develop at a pace that suits him and judge him later on.The first 12 or so fights will be roll overs, and that's fair enough.I can't believe the corwd booed a kid making his debut.Shamefull.

Bit of a quiet debut but not necessarily a bad one. Degale showed some patience in there, which is always good to see from someone just stepping up from the amateurs. He wasn't really wasting many punches but some of the work was still a bit pitter patter.

I think he needs to stick to fighting orthodox. Near enough everytime he throws a jab with the right he flicks it out which is what the ref was warning him about. Also he looks pretty open to the left hook from southpaw. He could definately do with some more head movement it was a bit too static for my liking.

Well, this is the problem when you punt a novice fighter into a big billing - He's going to come under the exact same scrutiny Khan did - Degale has to take the good and the bad and be ready for it, he sounded devastated in the interview I just heard on the BBC site.

These fighters should be working away on undercards and learning the game that way - All the hype and bullshít will only cause a backlash with the public and that is because these fighters are not what they are being cracked up to be.

Warrén doesn't seem to see it as a problem, but it blatantly is, and I don't think he has learnt from the Khan excercise.

Out of the 3 Olympians on show I reckon Degale took the least amount of shots and was the more controlled boxer, but that flicking jab was abit shit

Gavin looked very good, he was alot more pro looking than I'd expected. He went all out after the stoppage to try and impress the home support, which is understandable.

I hadn't seen much of BJ Saunders (and still haven't), but even after the 2 rounds of action I can see why plenty of people are tipping him for BIG things in the pro ranks

Exactly, there is a massive amount of pressure placed upon them and the whole nation is watching them, compare that to the likes of Ricky Hatton who started off fighting in leisure centres in front of less than a hundred people.

But Degale didnt help himself by posing nude for magazines and bragging how many women hes slept with. If they dont want the pressure keep out of magazines/papers.

true and fair enough. although i found the ironic cheering when Audley actually threw a punch hilarious

Just goes to show the sort of crowd that goes to boxing nowadays, compleate morons who know very little about boxing.
Give him a chance i thought he look the best out of the lot, it's was his first fight ffs, if he still doing it in 5 years you can start compairing him to Fraudly. He just needs to step it up a bit, as he said why would i want to get knocked out it just his style.
