How about Herbie Hide
Also shit stamina, when a fighter get tired they go to their natural survival instincts.Riddick Blowe wrote:there is no way bruno had a glass chin, he just had no clue how to tie up and survive and run the clock down.
He took some hulking shots from monstrous punchers but it was the fact that his inefficiencies led to him taking more and more flush shots that would wipe him out.

Agree.
Bruno was actually the Wlad of his day! Very hard to get past that jab but if you did you could land soe shots.
Bruno was never chinny, just did not react wel cover well when hurt.
I think I only ever saw him down against once? Bonecrusher?

I think it is actually one of the arseholes from the Khan site.
Maybe its Spud!
Bruno stood up to some huge shots and don't forget he finished on his feet against Tyson and Lewis. True, he did freeze when hit with big punches, but it took a hell of a lot to put him down. Look at the Smith and Witherspoon fights. Chinny fighters go down a lot, lot easier than that.Captain Hook wrote:How about Bruno? Terrible whiskers but became a world champ, though I think it was more down to stupidity than a glass jaw.
Tyson had him down in the first fight and Witherspoon had him sitting on the bottom rope, I seem to remember. Anyway, agree with you, as you can see from my previous post. Considering some of the punchers he faced, he has an admitably low knockdown tally.DG. wrote:Riddick Blowe wrote:there is no way bruno had a glass chin, he just had no clue how to tie up and survive and run the clock down.

I wouldn't say Herol or Lennox were at all - when they were knocked out, they walked straight into the shots, there was nothing anybody could have done about them. The Julian Jackon shot would have knocked out David Tua.Goz wrote:Was Herol Graham shown to have a glass chin do we think? He was mega-elusive at his peak, I don't really remember him catching one clean until Kalambay had him all over the shop and then Jackson iced him and then Brewer took him out as well.
Someone will say Lennox Lewis but they will be wrong.
This is my view exactly. None of the blokes mentioned here had 'glass jaws'. Some were a bit chinny, don't have 'world class punch resistance' etc but they could all hold a reasonable shot, in my view.WildWaylon wrote:Its a difficult question to answer but anyone at the elite level who cant take a punch wont last too long.
So would most boxers if they walked into any half-decent boxer the way Amir didTerence wrote:I liked the Black Mamba, he looked like a nutcase, which always helped. There was another impressive fight of his, will have to try and remember it.Old bones Ian wrote:Mayweather retired in 10 in the rematch against Chavez, and yes the Kosta fight was pretty poor to watch.
Saying that though when he was on form Roger was good to watch. He dominated Vinny Pazienza in the fight before Chavez.
As for the thread, yes there have been guys who get hit and go down, but Amir got wiped out. He cannot take a shot.
