Yea, i agree the fight is somewhat tainted following the margarito/handwraps revelations. However at the time it was one of the best fights i had ever seen, i havn't been following the sport that long and it was such a great fight to watch.

Seeing cotto using all his boxing skills to evade margarito but sensing that margarito was really getting to him really had me guessing after most rounds who was going to win. There are a few moments in the fight from cotto that really impressed me, i can't remember the rounds but in one cotto does this little dummy move like hes about to packpedal then suddenly darts forward with some awsome footwork and smashes marg with a straight right.

Also when marg had him against the ropes and was reigning down blows and cotto was evading like crazy.

It's a shame we will never know if it was what margarito had wrapped round his hands that was really getting to cotto.

What amazed at the time about Margo's performance was the number of times his head got snapped back in the first half of the fight - he's bloody lucky McGurt wasn't in his corner! One thing POP wraps don't help you with is taking power punches from a big hitter like Cotto.
