Sure bring the kids and give them some balloons,all seater stadiums and the like.

A booze ban for an Audley Harrison or Matthew Barney bout would be barbaric imo. That gallon is the least the paying punter deserves.

I got so wound up before the first Eubank Benn fight that I started drinking whisky to settle myself down. I then had to have a lie down under a table before the show began.

The Khan Barrera fight was a nightmare inside, stewards lost all control and people were just strolling to their seats with 2 - 3 pints at a time

Why should boxing be adults only? You want people to have the freedom to smoke then want to make boxing restricted to your rules. I went to watch boxing as a kid, I think it's great the see kids at boxing - those are the future fans

Drinking has always been a problem at boxing. As much as drinking at the venue it is a problem with the start time of fights. If a main event is on at 11pm, many people will see that as a reason to drink for 4 hours before. The cost of that much drink at an arena must be enormous.

In reality, there are two main issues. 1. Venues, like pubs, should not sell alcohol to people who have had too much to drink. 2. There should be less one-sided undercards which would be an attraction, rather than something to be avoided.

In the US, they have one of those systems where you queue up to buy a ticket, which then gets swapped for a drink. This makes binge drinking somewhat more difficult. And it also comes down to a lack of control by security. If someone like Dom Negus tells you you are not having any more to drink, you will probably not have anything more to drink. But there never seems to be enough security people at big fights.
