He comes out with wild statements and reckons to want to fight every decent fighter under the sun. He never does though. I find it a stark contrast from lads who just get on with it and avoid nobody. The hard way. The proper way. That's the vibe I get.

I'm a little baffled, what fighters has he been bad mouthing and slagging off?

What I see is a fighter who has taken some good pay days on his brothers undercards which have far surpassed a British level payout, he has now got the chance to top a bill against Bami with the chance to fight for a title on the Ricky-Pacquiao undercard :o

If that makes him a fool god only knows what your are!

Kevin Anderson and Ali Nuumbembe for 2. He also said he's good enough to one day be a genuine World Champ. By which I don't mean the IBO.

You do come across as a baffled sort of a person actually Hagler. Someone said it the other day, he's chosen to avoid making a proper reputation by beating the domestic opposition and instead boxed in front of 200 people in practically empty halls in America while folks was at the bar having a drink. Folks from his home town I might add, 3000 miles from home, who would rather stand and sup beer than watch him.
I don't doubt he got paid more money for them. Depends whether your preferred currency is respect or cash.

I come across as baffled :o
NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:Well if you look at their respective clashes against Johanneson, Burns was floored 3 times. To my memory Gomez wasn't down was he? I realise he got stopped, and I think Burns made it to the (final) bell.

As regards Gomez' ability to do 12 Hagler, I think you may be surprised, he was doing okay against Johanneson, in that fight he expended a hell of a lot of energy, which to me, suggests if he paced himself there's enough there to do 12. Plus he's a natural fighter so I don't think he'll waste a lot of "nervous" energy, too seasoned in my book.

Burns, who I didn't necessarily mean to paint as powerless, should be quick enough and young enough to avoid Gomez' danger shots and get a points win.
NorthEastBoxingFan wrote: did anybody else not think when this fight was made Gomez would be up against a huge obstacle? He looked worn against Johanneson, which isn't to say he didn't fight well that night, but you judge somebody's decline by how good they were and how good they are , don't you?

I just thought it was last chance saloon versus Johanneson, last chance saloon versus Khan...and Burns is so much fitter in 2009 than Gomez. How many times are you meant to go to that fckin Saloon? That's my take on it anyway.
Gobshite

By any chance are you from Cleveland?

I said Gomez would be up against it but I thought he may do twelve. As it turns out sounds like he had less left thean he did when he boxed Johanneson.

What about the "licking of his life" Dunne took last week eh?

Pretty tough late sub for a pro debut - Razak's record may not be upto much but he's a lightweight, went 10rnds in his last fight and has only been stopped twice in 27 fights. Still I don't like the way Murray drops his hands - he's copped quite a few clean ones.

Hurling insults shows your lack of intelligence, if I got everyone right I would be a millionaire, why don't you go back a bit further and trawl up my tip for a Pacquiao KO against DLH @ 10/1 or Prescott to KO Khan

Don't you class Gobshite as hurling an insult?

And you picked Pacquiao to KO De La Hoya? Well congratulations. Personally I didn't think it was ever in doubt.
You've contradicted yourself several times in a row now and then tried to prove your "intelligence" by bragging that you correctly picked what I perceived to be a pretty obvious win for Pac.

Yeah and Bami is looking sluggish or maybe Hatton is making him look that way - he's looking sharp I have to say. Boxing well.
