no nathan cleverly???
Re: British Top 30 P4P April 2009
Hall is to high, I would have Cleverly ranked above Hall for kick off.
Re: British Top 30 P4P April 2009
I don't know how to rate these unknown Africans that a lot of Commonwealth champions face.alexpaterson wrote:I would have Cleverly in their somewhere probably at the expence of Elcock
I think the bottom of the top 30 P4P list is quite competitive, and Cleverly is going to have to beat a few more Africans or beat another decent domestic opponent before he enters the list.
Re: British Top 30 P4P April 2009
Elcock lost to Macklin and as a result he dropped below Thaxton. That is why Thaxton moved up a place.sgtcecil wrote:my interpretation of the list is that thaxton actually went UP by 1 place which i cant understand!DavidPayne wrote:Why does Thaxton drop by 1
Re: British Top 30 P4P April 2009
i've said this before, but not having hide in is an anomaly. going off your own criteria in this thread, he is ranked in the top 10 in the world isn't he?
hall in on the back of ONE decent win?

Re: British Top 30 P4P April 2009
He beat Kiko Martinez twice who has a win over WBA interim champion Bernard Dunne. He is also the super bantamweight champion with four defences. To rank him at about 18th would be ridiculous. I think his current position is well deserved.CEO_Hoodlem wrote:Why is Rendall Munroe so high up!!!! Who has he beat in world class. He should be about 18th
Re: British Top 30 P4P April 2009
Rees was the WBA champion just over a year ago. Brian Magee has just given up his British title and Dean Francis drew with Joey Vegas. I don't think Rees being ranked above these two is odd.G0mez wrote:Odd mix.
Ree's above Brian Magee and Dean Francis ?
JC like others say, is retired.
Re: British Top 30 P4P April 2009
He has fought within the last five months, so I think he is relatively active.DG. wrote:Horse , you need to look up the word ACTIVE and Retired - you can not be both.
What is wrong with Dioufy? Dioufy is a fine poster.DG. wrote:You are worse than Dioufy!
Re: British Top 30 P4P April 2009
As Ive said you can put cal back on if he comes out of retirement . He is an in active fighter. I dont know of one ranking list in the world except yours that is still rating calzaghe.
Re: British Top 30 P4P April 2009
Enzo Mac definately lower and Kell Brook should be higher, also, as said in other posts where is Nathan Cleverley?
Enzo Mac was/is rated in the Top Ten (although, personally I think he is way overated) but then again so was Bobby Gunn, remeber?
Shouldnt really judge fighters on where they are listed by the governing bodies tbh.

I was referring more to the wins he picked up as European champion rather than just holding the title.metropol wrote:In a post above your reason for having arthur above duddy was that he was a euro champ and that that was more than duddy has achieved, so by the same logic isnt mccloskey being a british champion better than anything that duddy has achieved?

No. Is that so surprising?hurlock wrote:no nathan cleverly???
Re: British Top 30 P4P April 2009
Matthew Hall destroyed Bradley Pryce, who had held the commonwealth title for 3 years. Pryce had a few months notice for his fight against Hall, whereas Oakey had about a weeks notice for his fight with Cleverly, which is by far Cleverly's best win.stujones wrote:Hall is to high, I would have Cleverly ranked above Hall for kick off.
Re: British Top 30 P4P April 2009
It's a good list and these things are always subjective but - and i say this every month - ENZO IS MUCH TOO HIGH!
Re: British Top 30 P4P April 2009
I don't think Hide is considered as a top 10 fighter in the independent rankings.whiteboy wrote:i've said this before, but not having hide in is an anomaly. going off your own criteria in this thread, he is ranked in the top 10 in the world isn't he?
hall in on the back of ONE decent win?
Hide did not impress me in his fight last month, so I decided against his inclusion.
Re: British Top 30 P4P April 2009
It is up to others whether or not they rank him in their lists. I have my own policy.metropol wrote:As Ive said you can put cal back on if he comes out of retirement . He is an in active fighter. I dont know of one ranking list in the world except yours that is still rating calzaghe.

Have you all not rumbled it ?
By responding you are feeding his ego.
Doesn't matter what you say he will do his own thing.
Best thing to do is ignore his post each month.
Sooner or later he'll get the message - and f off.

Horse - Joe Calzaghe is retired. Please take him off this ridiculous list.Horse wrote:Because, a large proportion of fighters who announce their retirement comeback at some point. Whats your reason for leaving him there?

I've tried mate, and don't respond like I used to......he's a bizarre young man.
You're right though...it's toss
Re: British Top 30 P4P April 2009
I dropped Enzo 4 places this month. I didn't think I could really drop him much further though. Brook has not fought the best opposition as British champion, so I think his position is fair for now.bengulnaci1 wrote:Enzo Mac definately lower and Kell Brook should be higher, also, as said in other posts where is Nathan Cleverley?
As for Cleverly, I just don't think he has done enough yet. A win over one of the other top domestic light heavyweights would likely be enough (Francis, Oakey or McIntosh).
I was talking about the independent/consensus rankings, not the rankings of the governing bodies.bengulnaci1 wrote:Enzo Mac was/is rated in the Top Ten (although, personally I think he is way overated) but then again so was Bobby Gunn, remeber?

Re: British Top 30 P4P April 2009
Yes, I would have dropped him further if other fighters had not lost recently (Napa, Thaxton, Skelton, Elcock). There are a lot of losers in the middle of the rankings at the moment, so unfortunately Enzo might not drop as quickly as one may like.danfoster wrote:It's a good list and these things are always subjective but - and i say this every month - ENZO IS MUCH TOO HIGH!

I do listen to what posters have to say and I take it into account when I make my decisions.
Why does my list offend you so?

Can you just answer me two questions please?
1) Why did you start this list?
2) Why the hell did you start this list?
