Yes, why not?

Because the whole point of him being on that is to create a British angle to a big fight on their first weekend after charging

But he is not on their schedule. Why are they not advertising his fight?

It probably just hasn't been updated since the fight was confirmed. It was only confirmed this week.

It was advertised on the Bunce show so it should be on. Also noticed, via my EPG, that Canelo v Cintron and the Broner fight this Saturday are on. For free. Unless you are a Virgin, in which case you get nowt. No more online streaming until subscription period starts either.

That will be watched by hardly anyone. Really think this channel going to struggle getting the subscribers.Lee purdy v Colin lynes fight got less than 100000 viewers.

To be fair that was a wednesday night, but if they even get 10k I'd be surprised. At least with some of the alternatives quoted (Premier, Setanta, ESPN) they offered more than boxing, thus widening their potential audience.

It might encourage others to subscribe, but it has put me off.

I want the best in Britain to fight. I don't want some new WBU vs British title like situation, were half of the best British guys go down a different path to the rest, to start again.
Think that could happen. The wbo inter belts then defend wbo world title in house could happen. Ormond fighting for lightweight wbo inter title in his next fight!
Can't see any alternative. FWP fighters have rarely fought on other promoters cards in recent years, so unless FWP win the purse bids for any UK title fights that are made involving his fighters, there are surely going to be pull outs? And if he does win the bids, that will cost a lot of money, which its arguable that he'll have with the losses likely to be made by BN.

I would prefer DeGale fought someone like Paul David rather than the guy he is scheduled to fight. David is higher ranked in the BoxRec rankings.
To be fair, these are keep busy fights for both Degale and Groves. I think their relative high profile has distracted from the fact that they are still at the novice stage of their careers. Groves last 4 fights were Anderson, Allotey, Degale and Smith - that's a pretty high quality run for someone 14 fights in. Similarly Degale has gone Smith, Kobal, Groves, Wilczewski after 12 fights.

Guerrero is a bit of a no mark with 4 fights since a 5 year lay off, but as a marking time fight it's no worse than some we've seen. Who promotes Paul David?

keep busy fights as a support bout but not as bill headliners. Be interesting to see the crowd for this.

Agreed. But with a limited stable of fighters attempting to support an entire TV channel there will have to be sacrifices - either the fighters fight regularly but in less demanding fights or there are less regular cards and the "2 shows a week" intention/promise is not achieved.

I think one thing is for certain, where possible, the biggest fights will be FWP v FWP. For all the talk of Shumenov and Hopkins, if Cleverly doesn't fight Maccarinelli in 2012, I'm a dutchman. Same with Burns, although he will fight Kev Mitchell, which is actually a really good fight.

Needs pointing out that other promoters are reluctant to let their fighters appear on his cards also, see Purdy-Vassell II, but I'm not getting into chicken and egg, they're all as bad as each other on that level IMO

Fair point, and not my intention to single out one promoter when all are guilty. I do fear that UK boxing is heading down the same route as US when there was a strong Showtime / HBO divide, but at the domestic level it could be disastrous for the sport.

Indeed not, potentially dreadful sign, last thing we need is a return to the Intercrap era, which is where that stance would inevitably lead to

Return to inter crap its back already! Degale WBo inter defence, Ormond WBO inter defence. Brook had WBA inter defence all be it against a fighter in ring top 10. Gavin was meant to fight for WBO inter belt before he pulled out!

But if FWP no longer exists, it can't have any fighters. Would former FWP fighters be expected / contracted to fight on BN? Will they be transferred to an alternative promotional group en masse? Will they be free to choose new promoters and thus, alternative TV contracts?

allegedly is a joint venture between Warren, Boxing Media Channel Ltd (a vehicle run by sports agent, Aaron Lincoln, former agent of John Terry) and Zoom Communications, a Canadian production group who have broadcast international Chuckwagon racing as part of their recent output. Not sure which of these will have funded the losses the channel is likely to have made in its first 2 months of operations.

Don't how long they will be able to continue to fund the losses either. The channel will be paying the promotor a fee like sky do! I remember promotors moaning the fee was not enough! The company is still trading.

Does allegedly broadcast shows all day?

Their website (which increasingly looks like an IT students GCSE project) doesn't offer much by way of info.

Doe it broadcast every day? What time does it start? Do they show repeats of recent bills and classic fights?

Apologies for my ignorance but I'm on Virgin so haven't had chance to have a gander but am considering the 6 month subscription.

Many thanks in advance.
