Re: Geale v Mundane 2
Anyone have any idea how the ticket sales have gone for this one. Jimmy lennon seemed to mention tickets being available at every opportunity. I kno when I got ny single ticket, I did ok. As soon as I put,in for multiple it forced me back somewhat. This made me think tkt sales were going very well.
Re: Geale v Mundane 2
Mundine's rant about Tasmanian Aboriginals being wiped out came from when Truganini died. Truganini was allegedly the last "full blooded" Aboriginal in Tasmania, but there were many Tasmanian Aboriginals who had interbred with Europeans, as did most surviving mainland Aboriginals. Mundine sometimes comes on like his father's old mate Ron ("Won") Casey.
I got a good mate who is half Irish and half aboriginal as well, top bloke.
Anyway, I have no problem with Mundine being proud of his aboriginal heritage, he should be. And it shouldn't be an insult to call someone part. I remember my dad showing me some photos of some aboriginal children he took when he went fishing in the northern territory, they definatley looked 100% aboriginal, if not very close to it.
Northern Territory is not an eastern state. If you don't think part Aboriginal is an insult, take it up with the Aboriginals.
I didn't say it was an eastern state
Who is it supposed to be an insult to, aboriginals or whites?
According to the NSW Government protocol for dealing with indigenous people it is an insult to Aboriginals.

Re: Geale v Mundane 2
OK - Getting excited now lads. I didn't think I would when this fight was first announced.
This is a real chance for Geale to get the local recognition he deserves if he can dominate mundine. But, this is also a chance for Choc to prove he is world class, we have all complained about his oppponents but if he were to beat Geale who is a the peak of his powers, mundine would surely silence a lot of critics.
I would like to hear your thoughts on who will win the undercard fights tonight, I think they are pretty well matched. I am going:
Geale d Mundine - TKO 8
Ammann d Aloua - SD
Brunker d Hernandez - TKO 6
Pittman d Awad - Decision
I am not overly intersted in the other fights, but I hope Tilyard KO's Kimbo

Re: Geale v Mundane 2
Geale will KO Mundane in the early rounds, it will happen in rounds 2-3. It will be a straight KO. It will not be pretty for Mundane supporters!!
Other winners will be
Ammann
Brunker
Pittman
Kevin Ferguson (unfortunately)
Bring it on

Re: Geale v Mundane 2
Tilyard's weight looks high.
Re: Geale v Mundane 2
Nice touch by Tony Mundine shaking Dan Geales hand as he got outta the limo. Class
Re: Geale v Mundane 2
Looks like most tipped the results.
Re: Geale v Mundane 2
Didn't predict Choc leaving the ring without shaking hands with Daniel.
Tony should kick his arse.
Tony should kick his arse.
Re: Geale v Mundane 2
Tony shakin hands with Geale on arrival shows how different father and son. Tony seems a real gentleman
Re: Geale v Mundane 2
The only frustrating thing about/for Geale is as good as he is (a truer and better champion the green or mundine IMO.) he doesn't have that "x-factor" like either of them or a style that makes people want to not miss his fights. I think he will need to keep going overseas to make some serious money.
Re: Geale v Mundane 2
It looked like a full house last night. " x-factor"? You are making the toughest sport on earth sound like some second rate talent show!
Hey Jamjar! Do you think Geale will be remembered?

One of the radio stations when they crossed late in the cruiserweight fight said the full house sign had just gone out and 9000 I think they said the capacity was.Brute wrote:It looked like a full house last night. Re: Geale v Mundane 2
It appeared every available seat was full. There were two or four sections blacked out, but I must say the atmosphere was as good as I hav felt at a fight. choc will watch the bout and realise the judges were kind tohim!! How anyone could give him 4 rounds has me stuffed. The unprofessionalim bs after the fight wont earn him a rematch and unlike the first bout it wasnt close. And as far as an x factor goes, I dont think dan needs it. Its boxing. And thrre aint too many middlewt in the world who can outbox dan.
Re: Geale v Mundane 2
The x-factor that Geale has that neither Green and especially Mundine is that he is aWorld class fighter, he showed the difference between them very clear last night, that is what will put bums on seats next time he gloves up,as for Mundine i thought the judges were more than generous by giving him more than two rounds, shows you what sort of a man? he is in defeat, I just hope Tony gives him a good belt in the mouth and shut him up,a good win by both Ammann and Pittman, all the best

Re: Geale v Mundane 2
If Choc genuinely thinks he won that he needs a brain scan post haste. Perhaps he got the impression he was doing a lot better than he really was from his corner? If that is the case he will get a very rude shock when he watches a replay.
