So he starts off like he's going to say something decent and ends up being a pudendum again. Lovely.

He does sum it up quite well (apart from the pathetic part):

@Tyson_Fury: I just saw one pathetic performance. No jab gassed. No footwork and hurt to body & head. What @Lenox has he been doing????????

I'm no trainer and I've only ever been in the ring sparring, but Price should have bee snapping that jab. He would have dominated the fight.

No. Go ahead and slag him if you feel he deserves it. He just hasn't got it.

He doesn't have the speed man, he would have come second best and have been hit with
Thompsons faster punches if he had tried.

There was basically nothing Price could do than land that big right early.

But he did land the big right hand. The problem started when Thompson got back up.

I don't want to slag him off. I don't dislike him, but he was awful tonight. I didn't say anything a lot of other people aren't saying as well.

George Foreman used to tell a story about how he wanted to dance around the ring and fight pretty like Ali and during training, his trainer would let him do it, but when fight night came, the trainer would tell Foreman to hit his opponent hard and forget about the fancy stuff.

A big lump like Price is dancing around flicking out punches, he should have been a bit more flat footed and tied up Thompson on the inside and hit him with clubbing short punches without giving Thompson the room to breathe or to throw his faster shots. He ran out of stamina because he was running around on his toes, prancing around.

He actually needs Frank Bruno's help to rebuild - learn how to tie a man up inside, throw strong punches and throw short clubbing shots from a high, tight guard.

Everything that I said, praise Jesus, that would happen did.

You can't squeeze a lifetime of experience and resolve into two month's of training; so anyone who thought Lennox Lewis would have been a major asset this time around was badly mistaken.

Price shown he had the heart of a lion, and the balls to match in taking the rematch but at the end of the day he resorted to what he knew best---- and that is to go for the fences and try to knock Thompson out. He didnt think like a pro in there, just an amateur. In those first two rounds he used his brain and his jab and when he had Thompson on the canvas he overloaded his ass into thinking he had it won, and in round three got in a dog fight and gassed out.

Price never could fight backing away, and his defense has always been average or basic at best. I know its a big heart break for the people of Britain tonight but this fight is living proof you can be a mountain of muscle, one of the biggest men in the division, and power alone won't win you fights. This is the 'sweet science' not a street fight. Price at the end of the day was a giant man with a big right hand with basic boxing ability and he got poleaxed by a 41 year old man again, who six months ago was written off as a complete has been.

Price very well couldn't have been in the best shape of his life, because of just how tired he was after three rounds. This man mentally was still in the mindset that all it would take is that amount of time to beat Thompson. Thompson Ali'd Price, the same way Ali outsmarted Foreman in Zaire. Thompson was calm, composed, and collected in that ring, and Price overloaded his ass and got emotional in there rather than keep his cool.

He proved he has a chin, but the last time it wasn't his chin because it didnt land there. What he has proven is that he has a heart for this business. He has the physicalities of being a dominate fighter, but skillfully and mentally and emotionally, this is a man who is weaker than most. I saw it in his eyes at the beginning of the fight that he wasn't quite sure of himself. And coming at the end of round four he knew he was a man being led to the gallows. The end was near. I dont believe the referee should have given him a standing eight count, because he took thirty or so unanswered punches.

Some men are just European level fighters, and that is it. There is no shame in that. Henry Cooper was an excellent European and Commonwealth champion, but he couldnt do anything with the top heavyweights in the world. Neither could Jack Bodell, or even John L. Gardner. Price could very well go down as one of the best British level fighters of all time, if he choses to stay in boxing. There is no shame in that. However, until he can mentally toughen up and emotionally calm himself down when he faces pressure in that ring, he will only be at best a European level heavyweight.

Jesus bless.

European level fighter these days means world title contender :) Clearly it was a shambolic performance. As he's already cleaned up the domestic British scene bar Haye and Fury, he's not got a lot of obvious avenues. Probably the stategy may be to be patient and feed him journeymen for 2 years and see if the right bigger fight materialises, while hopefully becoming a more rounded fighter in the gym.

Rogan, Sprott, Dallas, Chisora, Fury & Haye. He hasn't cleaned up domestically, he should get back to work with that.

Chisora would walk through him, Sprott would really fancy his chances and be throwing that right. I can't see a way back for Price at all, the game is up, anyone semi-competent is going to fight him extremely hard.

It's a bit like Amir Khan, if you keep tinkering with the fighters style sometimes they lose what made them good in the first place to some degree. Tough to see Price, but as long as he can keep beating domestic level guys he's got a career.

I don't understand why Price wanted a rematch, Thompson can obviously throw a punch he stopped Price in the last fight. If a boxer knocks you out maybe you rethink your strategy go away for a few months and plan what to do next. In my opinion you dont get an immediate rematch with a guy who you know can chin you, where is your confidence knowing that in the last fight you fought you were knocked out by the guy in front of you.

I can understand a rematch if it was a dodgy decision but not when a guy has chinned you which was not just 'throwers luck'

In my opinion Price is in a race war (not that kind of race) with Fury and Haye, he was hoping that the win would take him to them. He needs to hold some aces for a big payday. Those aces are now gone. There is no where for him to go every tom dick and harry will want Price, does he want fights knowing that he's in there for the knock out.

If he decides to carry on he needs to rethink his course, a few low fights, maybe in Europe like the Danny Williams road show. Even fighting Williams or a few other stiffs that are touring the roads of Russia.

Price obviously thinks he's better than he is, he's upright and has no game plan. I'm not going to say chinny as youve got to have something special to keep going forward when a 18 stone fist has hit your chin.

Maybe he was poorly advised, a rematch with Thompson was a poor decision he should have avoided him. Thompson will lose in a fight or 2 and go into retirement himself so there is no importance in him. Whats Thompson got that Price needs?

Lennon Lewis has no right standing there giving advise, he's had his time and on a few occasions he was on his back!

Im not slating Lennox, Why did price have a corner team inside the ring? Lennox is a spectator. Let his team deal with the internals.
