What a load of rubbish. What vested interest did that referee have in ending Brook/Jones 2 ??!! It was a fair stoppage. The referee did his job - he is there to protect the fighters and Jones was losing, was a mile behind, and Brook was hammering him at that point. Good stoppage

EDIT: A fair stoppage is debatable. He could have stopped it 'fairly' on a couple of other occasions, but at a stage when Jones was getting back into the fight, not getting on top, but more competitive, working the body (like the first fight), breaking Brook's nose (again, like the first fight and I cite Dominic Ingle), the very next time Brook stings him he jumps in. That for me is fishy, as fishy as the stoppage in in the previous fight where Coyle got up (while way ahead imho) and there was no examination at all, instant waving off. He beat the count, the ref should at least assess his condition.

If this happened in Germany to a Brit fighter you'd all be calling for a jihad. The exponentially multiplying standards on boxing forums are ludicrous.

Bobby Dobbs was on here the same night and was disappointed but had no issue with the stoppage; Carson is a tough, tough competitor but deserves more than getting a full fight pasting; . He pushed Brook very close the first time but wasn't really in it this time and Brook looked very strong; Carson can come again but Brook showed he is a level above; if Brook did get his nose broken again it may go in the future - there are some very heavy ad accurate punchers at welter. To be honest; though I am a little agnostic about Brook he did the job well.

You said the fight was rigged beer or no beer that says everything.

It might have been a slightly soft stoppage.

But the reality is, he had been worth stopping a few times prior to that and used up all of his chances.

If he didn't want to be stopped, then he should have fought better from the start instead of being bounced off the canvas round after round in my opinion - and was lucky it wasn't stopped in previous rounds.

At the end of the day, Jones and his cornerman were too brave for their own good and there was ten times the liklihood of him being banged-out badly than him finding one lucky haymaker to win it.

Tough as old boots, but who wants to see him badly hurt ?

I've watched the fight back you can argue that Jones took loads of hammer and kept getting back in the fight .
Though only because Kell kept taking his foot off and was slower than usual due to the weight.
I counted shed loads of heavy heavy shots that rocked Jones head back on his spine.
He was miles behind in the fight and the ref is there for safety.
Jones was throwing nothing from the back foot his defence was nowhere to be seen towards the end.
The ref did the right thing .
He is too hard and brave for his own good and unless his defence is improved it could end his career prematurely.

A class opponent Jones but definitely the lesser man this time round.

I dont think that is a particularily great fight. Lopez was losing to Ortiz until he broke his jaw and he's just coming off being knocked out by Maidana. Wont tell us much to be honest.

Lopez is a test still he really hurt Maidana and can take a bit of punishment before going down.
